Today at the SC hearing on Bihar SIR, ECI has agreed to release the list of 65 lakh deleted. Except there is a catch. The lists will be published booth wise at the district level and not the Bihar election website. ECI said they don’t want “unnecessary consolidation of data”. 1/6

Yet, CEC Gyanesh Kumar has doubled down on not applying deduplication software during phase 2 of SIR in 12 Indian states.
1/In this new @reporters_co investigation we found 1.88 lakh cases of dubious duplicates in in 39 assembly constituencies in Bihar SIR draft rolls. Of these, 16,375 cases raise highest alarm, vote credentials match completely, and addresses are the same or kilometers apart.
