I’m glad I didn’t take this compiler class, I would have also gotten 0/100. No wonder people think compilers are scary, they shouldn’t be taught this way! It’s also flawed in many ways (and old) but I think this is more approachable llvm.org/docs/tutorial/

Turns out that Tesla isn't a good fit for me after all. I'm interested to hear about interesting roles for a seasoned engineering leader!

I'm super excited to join Google Brain next week: AI can't democratize itself (yet?) so I'll help make it more accessible to everyone!

I am learning that I am an unusual CEO in many ways. Some know that I still code on nights and weekends (github.com/lattner) despite a busy “day job”. As part of that, I care deeply about sw development as a profession, and what “AI anxiety” is doing to many early and

I spoke with @clattner_llvm about AI and software craftsmanship. "The question is, when things settle out, where do you as a programmer stand? Have you lost years of your own development because you’ve been spending it the wrong way?” A must read: fast.ai/posts/2025-10-…

It was wonderful to get to spend time with the legendary @LisaSu today. She’s such an inspirational leader, it is no wonder that @AMD is on fire! 🔥

Hah, this got more attn than I expected. Theoretical CS is quite important, but practical and applied computer science is important too. I think it is time to split these into two more clearly defined disciplines so we don’t have accidental gate keeping on either side. I think

Here's my conversation with Chris Lattner (@clattner_llvm), a legendary engineer, his 3rd time on the podcast. We talk about Modular AI and Mojo, a new programming language that is a superset of Python and can achieve 35,000x+ speed ups over Python. youtube.com/watch?v=pdJQ8i…

My decision has nothing to do with "openness". The "friend" cited is either fabricated or speculating. Folk just want to make 🍎 look bad. 😠

Mojo🔥 is here! Many, many folks want to download and run the Mojo compiler locally instead in notebooks... but languages aren't just a compiler, you need a full ecosystem of developer tools to build things! Mojo is still a young language, but today is a huge step forward! 🚀❤️‍🔥

Mojo🔥 is no threat to Python🐍: it lifts it up and gives Python programmers superpowers🦸. If anyone should be scared, it should be C++ and hard to use accelerator languages. Python is what developers love: C++ is mostly a pragmatic necessary evil for when you need performance.

Can Python survive this? Modular, the company behind Mojo just raised $100 million dollars to fix AI infrastructure for developers. That's a lot of money! Mojo is a programming language for AI developers and is 35,000x faster than Python (Modular's benchmarks.) It combines the

I am super excited to join @SiFive today, leading the software team that builds tooling to enable 'silicon at the speed of software'. Chip design is challenging, and needs open tools that are well designed, easy to use, and state of the art. More at: sifive.com/blog/with-sifi…
