For anyone wondering: The graceful old gentleman bearing the torch for a moment is Charles Coste. In 1948 (London Games) he became an Olympic champion in the men’s team pursuit on the track. He is 100 years old, the oldest living French Olympic champion. #OpeningCeremony

Gino’s dog is named Pello. After Pello Bilbao. Because he was found on the streets of Bilbao, and Gino said he wanted to name him for Pello because Pello also comes from Bilbao. When at home, Gino took him everywhere, because the dog didn’t like being alone due to his past.

If anyone is as confused as the people in the replies to the OP: The Olympic Games are not, in fact, the world championships. Only the team that wins the world championships can call itself world champions. Hope that helps 👍
