    Today on Nordic Day, we’d like to pay tribute to our neighbours in the Nordics🇦🇽🇩🇰🇫🇴🇫🇮🇬🇱🇮🇸🇳🇴🇸🇪 We have a lot in common (even our flags looks a lot alike 😉), and we are all built on values such as trust, democracy, equality, & freedom of speech. Have you ever been to the Nordics?

    🇺🇦 Happy Independence Day to all Ukrainians! Today also marks 2½ years since Russia’s brutal, full-scale invasion. Denmark’s support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom is unwavering. We will continue our civilian and military support for as long as needed 🤝

    On Sunday HM Queen Margrethe II entrusts the throne to HRH Crown Prince Frederik👑 The succession of the throne takes place at Council of State at Christiansborg Palace.🏰 The Queen signs a declaration of abdication & the Crown Prince will officially become HM King Frederik X.

    50 years ago today, Denmark joined the European Community, now the European Union. 🇩🇰🇪🇺   Since 1973, the EU has brought Denmark prosperity, security and opportunities. In the EU, DK leads the way in protecting the common European values and as a green and digital frontrunner.

    Today is ‘Valdemarsdag’ in Denmark – marking the day in 1219 when the Danish flag, Dannebrog, is said to have fallen from the sky 🇩🇰 It’s considered the world’s oldest national flag still in use - and remains a strong symbol in both official and everyday celebrations🎉🇩🇰

    This weekend, it was possible to see the magical northern lights over Denmark🎨✨ It is a relatively rare phenomenon in 🇩🇰, but from time to time, when both the weather allows it and the solar wind is sufficiently active, we can see the beautiful colours light up the night sky☀️

    Happy Constitution Day🇩🇰 This day commemorates the signing of the Danish Constitution on 5 June 1849, which marked the end of enevælden (absolute monarchy), and the beginning of democracy in Denmark - one of the oldest democracies in the world🌍📜

    Today, HM Queen Margrethe II hosted the last New Year's banquets and receptions as monarch of the 🇩🇰 Realm Thousands of Danes braved the ice-cold winter weather to catch a glimpse of their Queen taking her last ride as monarch in the historic Golden Carriage 👑

    This is huge for a small country like Denmark😍 Danish film "#AnotherRound" by #ThomasVinterberg wins an #Oscar for best Foreign Film! It's the 4th time that a 🇩🇰 film wins in this category and we're over the moon that it has happened again. Congratulations to all involved🌟

    Today is Denmark's Liberation Day🕊️ On 4 May 1945, Denmark was liberated from Germany after five years of occupation. On 5 May 1945, Danes went to the streets and waved the Danish flag in celebration 🇩🇰 It remains a Danish tradition to put candles in the windows on the 4 May🌟
