Whenever I go to Paris to talk about investing in YC startups, I'm always amazed how much the French just LOVE Y Combinator. Nous t'aimons aussi, France. My French friend of @Fundoraclub wanted to see YC from the inside...and share it with the people of France. This is the

Very common Series A planning conversation between founders and seed investors right now: Founder: I'm going to go out for the A next quarter...so it's time to start gearing up with pitch materials, introductions, coffee chats, etc. But I think I might try raising from Standard

Thrilled to announce our investment in Autumn (YC S25), led by Ayush Rodrigues and John Yeo. Back when I was in YC, my batch included Patrick and John Collison, who were building dev/payments, which later became Stripe.

Last night's sneak peak from inside Y Combinator Note - YC founders are days away from Demo Day. The internets are about to start their quarterly complaints about YC valuations, founders that move too fast, inflated ARR numbers, etc. I thought I would share what it's like

In 2008, my year, my MBA class went 40% consulting, 20% finance, 20% general management, 19% other, 1% startups (me and another guy). Curriculum focused on big companies. Today. Same school: 40% head to startups. But the curriculum is substantially the same.

Tenured professors are not former founders, they’re researchers who have published eship papers. The would adapt if they could. But they don’t actually know how to teach startups. Most of the eship curriculum is around business pitch competitions because it’s easy to run.

It was 12 hours after I had been fired from the company that had acquired my first YC company. PG called me up when I emailed him the news. He wouldn't let me vent. Instead, we were immediately brainstorming a new startup for me. I said I wanted to make it easier to search

They should just reduce the permitted delay on disclosure. Right now it sits at 30 days and all members of Congress generally submit on the last day. We almost did a start up on this and tracked every PDF submission for a while. All of their alpha relative to the market is

The people who understand this more than anyone on the planet are the YC founders of successfully exited companies that do YC again for the same 7%. And there are a huge number of us. We understand that increasing your odds of building a big company is more important than the

PSA notice to founders considering YC Doing YC more than pays for the 7% equity you give up When you combine that with the clear speed up and community that helps you (and that your % likelihood of success goes up a lot more too) this means YC is clearly worth it

I became a broker for 6 months before starting 42Floors. Didn’t love it. Can’t imagine running that company without it.

Mastra was our first investment in this @orangecollectv fund. And man, did we pick right. First investment = top candidate for a fund returner. First check was the day before they started YC. We gave them the max they would take. Second check? The very next day. Why do we

The Venture Series A industry will have a pre-Standard Capital and post-Standard Capital split. Exactly the same as the shift in seed funding that occurred when YC introduced the Summer Founders Program in 2006 and the SAFE in 2012. The market will shift over time to those
