Powerful economic argument for targeting aging published today @NatureAging. "...A slowdown in aging that increases life expectancy by 1 year is worth US$38 trillion, and by 10 years, US$367 trillion." !!!! Great work @ProfAndrewScott @davidasinclair

Our new paper calculates the value to the US economy of widely prescribing Metformin, a cheap medicine that could extend lifespan by >2.6 years, is at least $38 trillion dollars. Let’s take that to the bank! @NatureAging tinyurl.com/r56w96ze

The connection between the aging process & certain diseases like Alzheimer's may be the key to unlocking our understanding & treatment of them, say @vijaypande & @kpfortney. Examining age as a root cause will guide us to the medicines of the future: bit.ly/agingandalzhei…
