Last week I claimed fair use for the first time in 800+ videos and it got rejected. I played the chords from Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You in a teaching video. This was just based on the chord progression. It was claimed manually by @WarnerChappell. This is outrageous!
Day 2 and another strike. @UMG removed the strike and put my Cars video back up (thank you) Now @sonymusic has given me a punitive copyright strike on a video that was blocked last month. @PaulSimonMusic is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Sad to see.
I just hit 2.2 Million Subs on YouTube! With some luck I can get to 3 Million by the end of the year. YouTube is so interesting. Some videos I spent 2 days on and others I can tell a story in one pass and it does just as well. I’m not sure why but thank you all for watching 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I got a chance to interview the great @Billy Corgan yesterday!He is working on a new Smashing Pumpkins record due out next year. It was a fascinating discussion about his approach to songwriting and the development of the Pumpkins musical style.
