Good morning with good news: Solar skyrockets in Nigeria, after big subsidies for gasoline and diesel were ended. BNEF says solar capacity now will triple to 1.6 GW within a year. Nigeria may use off-grid solar to "build grid-scale volumes." @solar_chase bloomberg.com/news/features/…

The @prisma ORM team has been doing some serious overhaul of all code-paths involved in startup performance. Combined, these changes will dramatically improve the experience on serverless functions. This is just the most recent improvement

This benchmark claims that Prisma is 10x slower than drizzle. This is not true, and never was true. We haven’t been able to get them to take it down, so instead we show up whenever this fake benchmark is brought up.

Cloudflare is 100x more fun to build on than anything else. There is no stress worrying about infra. I just created a service, deployed it with no regard for location or capacity, connected a KV and DB within minutes, and now it’s serving 200+ users without fail.

Cloudflare Workers is awesome, and now you can set up a Postgres database that has been specifically designed to work in this environment. With automatic connection pooling and global caching.

Indeed. US is heavily regulated when it comes to zoning. Much more so than pretty much all European countries and most of the rest of the world. Makes no sense that it’s illegal to build a corner store where people live.

Cargo bikes are awesome! It’s wild how so many people completely ignore the cost of owning a car and then point to cargo bikes as some kind of luxury item for lazy academics. Doesn’t make any sense.
