Even though this blog obviously replicates the design of Twitter/Bluesky/Mastodon et al, I still had to go to the WordPress backend to write new posts, which was fairly annoying.

Luckily there’s no point in suffering like that in the age of AI, so this weekend I built a simplified frontend editor prefectly bespoke to my needs that lets me post anything in just a few seconds.

I expect I’ll shitpost much more from now on, apologies in advance.

Last weekend I built a super lightweight macOS menubar app that watches Claude Code session state and uses it to control a physical light (this one) that I keep in my peripheral vision.

If you run Claude Code in a terminal (or several ones) that you aren’t actively watching, you can use the flag on your desk to quickly know what’s happening without having to switch windows. It started as a little silly experiment, but after a week of using it I can humbly proclaim: this rules.

We came back to Mexico City on day 9, and on day 10 we just walked around a bit more. We’re now flying back home, the end!

We took a bus to Puebla on day 7.

On day five, we visited the incredible Biblioteca Vasconcelos and ate at Contramar.

Day four in Mexico City. We spent the day in Chapultepec.

The Basque center was nearby so we also had a couple of kalimotxos. Sorry, not sorry.

Day 2. Walking and eating, eating and walking.

About a year ago I posted a photo of my old iPod and added “someday I’ll share all the surgery I’ve done to keep it working”. I think that day has arrived!
