Starting in 1996, Alexa Internet has been donating their crawl data to the Internet Archive. Flowing in every day, these data are added to the Wayback Machine after an embargo period.
This week http://peruinfo.org/ reached several records, it passed the 100.000 clicks on
the links in the database and there was a record of 235 users online at the same time. The site now gets far over 500.000
views per month and i can already say that if the hits continue like they coming in now the site will have much more views
in total this month than last month.
if you wonder why all the domains, well, i am planning to sell subdomains in the near future. some subdomain
examples could look like this: 'name of a hotel here'.abancay.info, 'name of a hotel here'.chosica.info. it could be
anything really. i still have to think about prices and as soon as i worked it out i will post subdomain prices on the website.
warnings about getting robbed, 01-02-2005 by Walter
today my parents told me about an acquaintance of theirs who went to Peru with a group. he told my parents what
happened to them in Lima. they got into 3 situations where they ( almost ) got robbed. 1 attempt was stopped because
the police was able to catch the robber, the thief stole a handbag off a shoulder by cutting the belt of the handbag with
a sharp knife while running by. they tried to rob the aquaintance of my parents by lure him ( with an excuse to clean his
shoes ) to a quiet place to rob him there and another person of the group took a taxi and he ended up in some neighbourhood
where they totally robbed everthing he owned, he was left alone in his underwear only in one of the most dangerous
neighbourhoods in Lima.
these methodes of getting rob are very well known and it's so easy to avoid this if people would read my warnings,
places to avoid section and robbing section on the website and
take them serious. i've read/had some comments about my warning sections beeing wild west stories but i can assure you,
they are not! You can enjoy everything to the most in Peru but you just have to be careful with some things, that's all.
p.s: no they did not know about my website so they did not have the information, infomation a travel agency should have provided in the first place.

we are busy with replacing the site with new code, done by a good old friend of mine, sascha 'siegel' pfalz. it's
not very likely but if you stumble into a problem please let us know.
with the new code the site will go up to another level, just stay tuned and you'll notice it soon enough.
many things have changed since my last post, some of the changes are:
- new URL YES!: http://peruinfo.org/.
- i've changed the layout of the site also so it's fixed to a 1024 screensize, sorry for the people
with a lower resolution.
- i've changed a lot of the site's content, added content etc, etc.
- you can submit your url also now, but don't submit something when you are not willing to link back.
the url to submit your site can be found in the navigation to the left or you can
submit your site here.
at first i thought to target the site at dutch people only, but i've changed my mind about this
and i will add as much as possible international related resources in Peru to the site from now on.
