Manage multiple sites

Your WordPress.com account can manage multiple websites under one WordPress.com login. This guide explains how to access, organize, and transfer ownership of your sites.

Own multiple sites

Your WordPress.com account can own multiple sites under one login. You create your first site when you sign up, and you can create additional sites at any time. Each site requires its own plan.

Each site has at least one user — the owner — but can have multiple users with editing access. When you create a new site, your account becomes its owner and administrator.

If someone invites you to administer another WordPress.com site they own, you can accept the invitation using your existing account. This lets you manage someone else’s site without them having access to your other sites, unless you specifically invite them.

A site can have different owners for the site itself and for its subscriptions:

  • Site owner: the user who created the site, or who received it via transfer.
  • Subscription owner: the user who paid for a plan, domain, or other subscription on the site.

As the site owner, you cannot renew or cancel a subscription owned by another admin. Ask the subscription owner to handle renewals or cancellations, or request that they transfer the subscription to you.

Switch between sites

You can view all the sites you own and manage through the Sites list in your WordPress.com dashboard.

To switch sites, click the W logo in the upper left corner of any site’s dashboard:

You can also set the Sites list to be your default landing page when you log in to WordPress.com.

From the Sites page you can also add a new site, search or sort your existing sites, and filter them by privacy status (private, coming soon, public).

Transfer a site to a new owner

You can transfer a site’s ownership, plan, and attached domains to another administrator on that site. See Transfer a site to a new owner for step-by-step instructions.

To move a plan to a new owner without changing the overall site owner, the current plan owner should contact support for assistance.

If you are not sure which admin on your site owns its subscriptions, view all administrators in the Users section of your dashboard.

Manage all your payments

Each site has its own subscriptions and payments for hosting, domains, email, and other services. To review payments across all your sites:

  1. Log in to your WordPress.com account.
  2. Click your profile icon (at the bottom left or top right of the dashboard) to open your Profile.
  3. Click Purchases in the sidebar menu.

Transfer subscription to another site

A paid hosting plan applies to the site you bought it for. You have a few options for moving a plan or starting a new site under the same plan:

Start fresh with a new site on the same plan

If you want to start a new site using the same hosting plan, you can register a new domain and clear the content for the current site.

Move a plan to a different site on your account

If you bought a plan on the wrong site, or want to move a paid plan to another site on your account, contact support for help. Only the current plan owner can request this move.

Transfer a plan to another user

To move a plan to another user account, transfer the site itself — the plan moves with it. If you are not both the site owner and the plan owner, the plan owner can contact support for help.

Search sites with AI agents

AI agents can help you review your WordPress.com sites. Try a prompt such as:

  • “List all my WordPress.com sites”
  • “Find my site named Bob’s Business.”
  • “Which of my sites have I not updated recently?”
  • “Find duplicate post titles across my sites.”
  • “Give me a complete health report for [Site Name].”

Your AI agent will return a summary of your sites, including their platform type and status.

I can’t find my site!

If your website appears to be missing from your account, you can try the following:

  • You might be viewing the wrong site in your account: Use the Sites Page to check the other sites in your account. You may have multiple websites in your account with similar names, so view each site to find the one you’re looking for.
  • Your domain might not be set up: Your site won’t be accessible to visitors if the domain is misconfigured. Resolve any domain errors to get your domain working again.
  • You might have more than one WordPress.com account: Log out of the account you’re signed in to and try logging in with any other email addresses you may have used to sign up to WordPress.com.
    • If you’re not sure which email address(es) you may have used to sign up, check your known email inboxes for any correspondence from WordPress.com (renewal notices, promotions, signup emails, or receipts.)
    • If you don’t recall the password for the account you’re trying to log into, you can reset your password by clicking the Lost your password? option from the login screen.
  • Your site may not be hosted with WordPress.com: To access your WordPress.org website, you can add /wp-admin to the end of your site’s domain to log in to your site’s dashboard. Install the free Jetpack plugin to manage your site in your WordPress.com account.
  • Your site’s Jetpack connection to your website may be broken: A connection error may cause your site to be inaccessible from your account. Resolve Jetpack connection errors to restore your access to your site.
