The chat interface offers you all the modern conveniences you'd expect from a modern chat client, from read receipts to direct threaded replies, as well as a full assortment of emojis and reactions. You can create chat rooms to interact with hundreds of people simultaneously, organize themed channels to separate the different departments of your company, or simply have private one-on-one conversations. Thanks to its reliable encryption, each time you send a text message, photo, or document, it's encrypted on your device and only decrypted when it reaches the verified recipient's screen, eliminating the chance of interception by third parties along the way.

Calls and video calls

Beyond text, Element Classic features a VoIP calling system based on WebRTC technology that allows you to make high-quality voice and video calls. You can start a quick video call with a colleague to get the answer to a specific question or set up group meetings and share screens to show presentations and review documents as a team. One of the most unique features of the Matrix system on which the app is based is its ability to create bridges to other messaging networks. My experience with Element Classic

After creating my account and choosing the default public server, the first thing I did was generate my security keys and store them safely in case I ever need to recover access from scratch. I also tried making a group voice call directly from the chat to check the lag and audio clarity, and the experience was very smooth. Finally, I joined groups listed in the app so I could find people with similar interests.

What I liked most about Element Classic and what could be improved

· What I liked the most: the peace of mind that comes from knowing your messages are truly encrypted, and the flexibility of being able to connect with users on other messaging networks via bridges.

· What could be improved: the initial device verification and key backup process can be a bit heavy-going.
