This page documents how Island in the Net is built and maintained. It was a tradition in the print era — a note at the back of the book describing the tools behind it. It feels right to carry that forward here.
Writing and Production
Posts are written in Markdown using WordPress Classic Editor. The primary writing machine is a Mac Studio.
Theme and Design
The site runs on Cornerstone, an open-source WordPress theme I built myself. System fonts throughout.
Server and Hosting
Island in the Net runs on a DigitalOcean VPS — Ubuntu Linux, Apache, MySQL. Self-managed.
