Greetings Terrans, no great surprises today – another progress update on the Mordion project, and another 1st Platoon Tactical squad done… No difference from the last two, other than green helmet flashes:

Nothing else to say really! That’s the trouble with projects like this – the beauty is in the massed whole rather than in the individual parts… Well, it can’t be helped – one more squad & we can get to the command section. It’ll be a couple more weeks though so don’t hold your breath :-)

Greetings Terrans, hope you’re all well! I have a quick progress report on my 7th Mordion project – I apologise in advance, because it really is a rinse and repeat of the last one – such is life when churning out the massed ranks of the Imperial Guard! Well, it is what it is – pleased to present 2nd squad, 1 platoon (Tactical):

Yup, they are basically the same as squad 1, but with yellow helmet flashes instead of red… Not much else to say really! Have a good one, more of the same next time, (and probably the time after 🤣).

Greetings Terrans, happy to share the first minis painted for my Mordion project – 1st squad of 1 Platoon. I shared details of the build & where I sourced all the bits in the last post so I won’t repeat myself, but TLDR, this is going to be a horde army on a budget so the paint job needs to be quick and easy. For inspiration, I really didn’t need to look much further than this piece by John Blanche – that also graced the cover of the RTB7 box:

And this is what I ended up with:

I went with the grey/black scheme, but also picked out the webbing pouches in green for a bit of variety. All basecoating was done with Contrast paints, and most highlighting was done quickly with a drybrush. The exception is the flesh, (which had a single ‘proper’ highlight & shade, but I skipped the eyes), and the lenses. The camo stripes & helmet detail went on last & took the longest to do, but all in all I think I did these in a week over 3 sessions. Not too bad at all! Here’s a closeup of the Sgt, lascannon & grenade launcher, showing the bits from Anvil Industries:

And one final shot of the whole squad:

Now I just need to repeat this for the remaining 3 squads plus command!
