Why to 3D Print Custom Foot Orthotics in Clinic
Cost
The cost of in-clinic 3D printed custom foot orthotics is about 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of lab produced ones. Duplicated pairs or re-makes are very cost friendly.
Quick Turnaround Time
A pair of custom foot orthotics can be printed in less than 5 hours by using one printer. For a busy clinic, two printers can be used to speed up the production. For re-makes, it only take 2 hours to re-print 1 orthotic device.
Control
A doctor fully controls the prescription and design of custom foot orthotics. Modifications and re-makes can be easily and quickly implemented.

“ I have worked with OLT with 3D printing of orthotics on-site and have found them to be very progressive with developing the best designs for our patients. In the time I have been with OLT they have added full-length orthotics, a low-profile orthotic that can fit in cleats or dress shoes, and features like the Kirby skive and accommodations for pressure points on the foot. Any time we have had to make adjustments Yong has been available. I would highly recommend OLT for in-office orthotic construction.”
“ OLT’s 3D printed orthotics have revolutionized the biomechanics aspect of my practice! I love being able to design these myself with OLT’s awesome software and then 3D print in my own clinic! My patients love them! 90% of my patients that have previously used polypropylene or graphite orthotics prefer these instead! ”
“ OLT’s 3D printed orthotics enable Podiatry practices to 3D print their own custom foot orthotics on-site. The system is easy to use and adaptable for all patients that require foot orthotics. Scanning the foot and prescribing the orthotic is easily done using the software and the printing material used for making the orthotic is one of the best materials I’ve ever used for making orthotics in my 20 years of practicing. ”
3D Foot Scanning
An iPhone or iPad can be used to scan a patient’s foot or foot castings in your clinic. Your existing foot scanner can also be used if it can output STL files.
Orthotic Design
A computer in your clinic can be used to design/review/modify the digital foot orthotic models before 3D printing.
3D Printing
A 3D printer can be used in your clinic to print out foot orthotics. Our printing lab can also print for you if preferred.
