New Demos and Tools Pages

Working on organizing the site, I’ve put together two new pages that round-up my Demos and Tools. The demos are organized into sections, Ajax, CSS, PHP, and so on. Most of the tools are for encoding and decoding, but will eventually include stuff for CSS, .htaccess, JavaScript, et al. Both of these new pages are readily accessible from the top menu bar (see left screenshot). It’s better than fun!

Over the years, I’ve put together a small army of demos for various articles and tutorials. The plan is to eventually reformat the demos with a similar, unifying design. For now, I’ve gone through the archives and put together a new Demos page to organize the collection.

I’ve also been streamlining my workflow when securing websites. A big part of cleaning up a hacked site involves decoding different types of encoded gibberish. Its common to find base64-encoded scripts, often combined with other obfuscation methods such as character rotation, data compression, and hex encoding. To help in the process of “translating” all of the encoded gibberish, I’ve built a collection of online decoding tools. Here’s a preview:

I decided to keep the design as minimal as possible, focusing on responsiveness and expedient user-experience over any extraneous stuntz and gimmix. As mentioned, the plan is to grow the collection with tools for working with CSS, JavaScript, .htaccess, and so on. If you’ve got any ideas shout ‘em out :)
