PixelFX Morph

PixelFX’s “Morph” line of scalers aim to be a lesser-cost way to connect your consoles to a flat-panel TV.  The Morph 2K is a 1080p scaler that comes with SCART, Component Video, S-Video and Composite video inputs and offers a VGA input module as well (no HDMI input).  It’s very capable for something that only costs $200 and is a great choice for people getting started.

The 4K version of the Morph (pictured above) offers HDMI-only options, as well as different analog video input expansions too.  The HDMI-only version is a great choice for people with multiple internal HDMI mods, as they can save money getting the cheaper version of those, then buy a Morph 4K to do the scaling.  If you HDMI mod 3 consoles with a RetroGEM basic kit (as opposed to the “Shiny Edition”), it’s actually cheaper to get the Morph 4K and you’ll have better overall performance.
