Research Services and Reproduction Fee Schedule
Potential researchers at the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center must complete a Research Request Form to be considered for research approval. Please provide as much detail as possible about the research project on this form. Priority application acceptance will be given to scholarly researchers, non-profit organizations, and news media. Other requests will be reviewed on an individual basis. All fees subject to change without notice.
Routine research inquiries and photocopy requests for fewer than 25 pages will normally be completed within five (5) working days. For other requests, the Archivist will provide an estimate of the research time needed (estimate subject to revision).
Conditions of Reproduction
The user assumes responsibility for all laboratory costs, including digitizing, reprinting, production of a negative when necessary, taxes, and shipping. New negatives become the property of the Research Center. Negatives are not available for loan or purchase.
The Research Center reserves the right to deny reproduction of any material that could be physically damaged in the process.
Credit Line and Copies Requested
Any publication of images from the Schulz Museum collection must include the following credit line:
“Courtesy: Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, Santa Rosa, California.”
One copy of any publication using an image from the Schulz Museum collection will be donated to the Schulz Museum.
Copyright
The Schulz Museum does not control copyright of Charles Schulz’s art work including Peanuts characters and comic strips. Due to the nature of our collection, the Schulz Museum does not own copyright to much of its holdings. Although the Schulz Museum will provide as much information as available to them regarding copyrights, the researcher assumes all responsibility for infringement of copyright.
Permissions
The researcher is responsible for any third-party rights that may be part of the image or work. This could include personality rights, photographer rights, and trademarks.
