Propyne

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Propyne, also called methylacetylene, is an organic compound. It is a hydrocarbon with the chemical formula HC≡CCH3. It is one of the simplest alkynes.

Like the closely related chemical acetylene, it can be used as a fuel gas for welding, where it is called methylacetylene-propadiene gas, or MAPP gas when mixed with propane.
