Who spoke about a nemesis ?
-
3 friendlies, 2nd official game in the span of almost 40 years... Too early to call Norway Brazil's nemesis.
-
Yes sir, reroll please.
-
Even so. Not my fault if they didn't play more games ! In a wide era though. We couldn't say that Brazil back in the 80's or 90's had a bad team !

As you said, Neymar never was a player to idolize, but I am certain Brazil, as always, will reinvent itself and be back sooner rather than later.
-
Honestly I cannot rememver any "strange" referee decision in that game. If there had been, my brain would have kept it somewhere in my memory.
-
I'm late to the real chat but I have to ask -- the local commentators in Australia were acting like the referee was atrocious in our match against Egypt. I'm pretty sure they were just being sore losers, but I'm keen for the opinions of those better informed than I who may have seen the game. We deserved to lose, in my opinion. My countrymen and women sure weren't happy about subbing the in-form keeper for penalties.

It's not simply about losing to Norway, this is the worst performance in the World Cup since 1990 where we also went out in the round of 16 against Argentina in the baptized water scandal but this one was a clean loss without controversy. It's also about the way we lost, how the game played out and how the game ended, the whole situation is completly humiliating for Brazil and this is not just my opinion, it's how every Brazilian feels about this elimination and the current state of the seleção. Besides, the past results against Norway were three friendlies in Oslo and 1998 was the last game of the group stage in which Brazil was already qualified, none were meaningful games, this was the knockout stage of the World Cup, we missed a penalty, missed many opportunities including a clear chance with Endrick and got gifted a penalty when the game was already decided just for Neymar to embarrass Brazil even worse. This was humiliating in every way.

@Joaoiyama Regardiing the rest of your comment, I respect your opinion.

How was that humiliating ? Please remind me last time Brazil defeated Norway ? 28 Jul 1988 Norway v Brazil D 1-1 International Friendly 30 May 1997 Norway v Brazil W 4-2 International Friendly 23 Jun 1998 Brazil v Norway W 1-2 FIFA World Cup 16 Aug 2006 Norway v Brazil D 1-1 International Friendly 05 Jul 2026 Brazil v Norway W 1-2 FIFA World Cup

After being rushed to the hospital, two emergency surgeries were performed, totaling five hours under the knife. There could have been dire consequences if the response had been even a couple hours later. He'll need multiple additional surgeries and will remain hospitalized indefinitely.

It's absurd that we fell to Norway in the round of 16, i wan't deluded that we would reach far but this was just too humiliating. Neymar is completly rotten with no morals, no honor and unacceptable behavior since the beginning of his career, his influence over this generation is a complete disaster. The concept of "dar o sangue pela camisa" which means to bleed for the jearsey is dead, everyone bowed down to lick the boots of european football losing our identity resulting in soulless football, we were the most feared and now we're a joke. The end of the game sums up perfectly everything that is wrong, resorting to aggression, taunting the goalkeeper while being eliminated and then crying like a victim, the final nail in the coffin. Who knows how long it will be before anyone fears the seleção.

Sadly I fear it´s more all preemptive legal threats... If Balogun had c*****s, he would bench himself. Anyway, concerning the match, Belgium surprised me thus far. They have holes, but not nearly as big as I figured. I think their chances of handing the US a sip of reality potion are good.
-
Gotta admit even as an American that I'm noticeably less enthused about this game than I otherwise would be. (...and I've got no dog in this fight with respect to my Saucer match in the other thread...)
-
It has to be seen..... What a pitty I have to go to bed now 😒
-
Yes, in this Match. but in other Matches the Atmosphere was great. Especially with South-American Teams
-
Posting here to remind myself that DoNotPursueLu already opted to re-roll Chiyoshoma in the previous thread.
-
And tonight we all will be Balogun Belgian fans. I hope the ref team from Jordan has resisted all financial offers from the White House. Cheaters. Ganzohnesushi
-
Come on, compared to the atmosphere in Europe or South America in big matches this feels like being on a graveyard. Many real fans simply could not afford the moon prices for tickets. Ganzohnesushi

Bingo! Ganzohnesushi

After a bunch of people complaining about the fans being *too* annoying in some other games (e.g.), it'll always be a mixed bag. They do turn the crowd noise way down in some games for no apparent reason. I do wish the number of tickets set aside for the playing federations was higher. And I bet a number of Portugese fans bought tickets for the wrong game assuming they'd win their group.
