This summer's hottest blockbuster is @IFP's Transit Abundance Playbook. It's a tremendous collection of policy solutions to streamline projects, run world-class systems, and empower US transit to fulfill its critical role of providing abundant, affordable mobility.

America used to lead the world in transit delivery. Now we lead in transit costs, and build less as a result. Over the last year, we worked with 17 experts to write a Transit Abundance Playbook with specific policy solutions that directly address the causes of rising costs.

We spent the past six months working with 17 transit experts to produce 40,000 words on fixing transit delivery — because California spent 16 years (so far) and 1 billion dollars to produce 100,000 pages of environmental review. (The train still doesn't exist.)

America once built transit faster and cheaper than any country on earth. That capacity didn't vanish! We simply buried it all under broken procurement, redundant permitting, and processes that generate documents better than infrastructure...and Democrats typically own the public

We're gonna need more post-mortems on the great work Congressional staff did rolling up good stand-alone bills into a package that could win bipartisan support. What can you katamari next? Who has the cross-party connections to do it?

One example: buses in the US cost nearly double their European counterparts. Three proposals to lower costs: 1. Cap the federal share from 85% of any cost to 85% of the cost of a "normal" bus 2. Address the customization problem directly 3. Assist in enabling scale economies

Delighted to join @rohanaras on reforming bus customization! Needless component customization cuts scale & hikes costs while squeezing OEMs Despite the world's most expensive buses, US bus manufacturing is unprofitable. Most manufacturers have exited the market altogether😬

“[Today], FERC told the organizations that run most of America's power grid that the rules they use to connect data centers may no longer be legal, and gave them 60 days to fix them. I think this is one of the most consequential AI and energy policy decisions of the year.”

I was ready to roll my eyes because most things that are usually published in this vein are strategic and sweeping and kinda live in a fantasy world or are just restating the obvious, but these solid tactical suggestions and many of them are novel.
