The #workplace is changing. HR and business leaders must work together to develop the highly skilled and inclusive workforce essential to a strong and growing economy. This first meeting of The American Workforce Policy Advisory Board is proof we are well on our way.

The greatest threat to America's long term economic prosperity is the workforce #skillsgap. Great to have @IvankaTrump with us at #SHRMleg to discuss the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board. The efforts of this board will truly make a monumental impact on work. #WeAreWork

People with criminal backgrounds that demonstrate a willingness to work, and are qualified for the job, should not be re-sentenced to joblessness #WeAreWork #FirstStepAct Employers should give job seekers with criminal records a second chance fxn.ws/2MR5US6 #FoxBusiness

🗣️“If you see a human being as a possibility—as a potential—you would nurture it. If you see it as a resource, you would use it. Using a human being is the worst way to approach a human being.” - @SadhguruJV Let’s be leaders who nurture and see the POTENTIAL in people. #HR

What qualities do you admire in people? Skills can be taught. Experience can be acquired. But empathy, humility, kindness—these character traits & others are harder to learn. Like if you agree! Share a quality that you look for & appreciate in others. #HR #humanresources

At my company, I noticed that people spend their free time with like-minded friends. So I told employees, “If you take someone new to lunch, someone you think you don’t have anything in common with, I’ll pay for it.” Why? Because getting to know someone fosters #empathy. Agree?

Remember #SHRM19, hire people for what they can do better and differently than anyone else. -Different is powerful. -Different is how change happens. -Different is what we all have in common. All of these people and those they represent are the future of work! #WeAreWork

Today @SHRM and @Koch_Industries launched Getting Talent Back to Work. Business and industry leaders are signing the pledge to give job opportunities to qualified people with criminal backgrounds. Help close the skills gap & reduce recidivism #WeAreWork:

To create better workplaces we must work together. Jobs aren't red or blue. There are 7 mil job openings in the U.S. and 6.5 mil unemployed people looking for work. The skills gap is real and we need policies that will help us close it. #wearework #SOTU

Yesterday, in a tragic Illinois workplace shooting 5 employees were killed, including 2 HR professionals. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, loved ones and colleagues of those that were affected.
