Only in Canada, in the midst of one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history, would a leaders’ debate be moved because of a hockey game.
Of note to Canadians: If Kamala Harris is elected president, she’ll have a personal understanding of our country as a former Montreal resident. That’s very helpful given how critical the cross-border relationship is. However, due to that history, she may also hate the Leafs.
Premier Doug Ford is #ForThePeople...unless you’re a hungry child who needs breakfast, Autistic, Franco-Ontarian, in high school, have an addiction or mental health challenge, endangered species, don’t applaud him, enjoy safe food and water, read library books or live in Toronto.
I’m grateful to the tireless efforts of @VaxHuntersCan. They’re amazing. But the very fact so many of us are reliant on a group of tech-friendly volunteers (rather than an effective government portal where one can pre-register) to find out where to get vaccinated speaks volumes.
Doug Ford and I often disagree. But the fact he snowmobiled on a weekend isn’t evidence that he ignores his job. No one, including our leaders, should reasonably be expected to never take a moment for themselves. Ford often deserves criticism, but that criticism should be fair.
This post by the City of Toronto was really bad. And even worse, both Metrolinx and the TTC really should’ve been prepared for the possibility of a late game to avoid leaving thousands of people stranded. I’ll be raising this at tomorrow’s TTC board meeting.
It snowed today. And not only is the Ontario Science Centre’s roof still standing, it still has more integrity than the Ford government. Photo: @SaveOSC
I’m at a convenience store at Yonge & Eglinton. Residents are telling me they want a provincial government that will actually focus on their priorities including the ability to find parks, schools, childcare and infrastructure in their growing local neighborhood.
Congratulations to Sue-Ann Levy for leaving the Toronto Sun to pursue her love of acting. This follows Levy’s performance in her most recent role, pretending to be a journalist for the past 31 years.
