It was fun to have 4-year-old Daliyah Marie Arana of Gainesville, GA as "Librarian For The Day." She's already read more than a 1,000 books.

The @librarycongress has the largest flute collection in the world with more than 1,800. It incl Pres James Madison’s 1813 crystal flute. @lizzo we would love for you to come see it and even play a couple when you are in DC next week. Like your song they are “Good as hell.”😉

.@lizzo is not the first musician (and she won’t be the last) to play instruments at the @librarycongress. Gershwin honorees @smokeyrobinson and @LionelRichie have played on the Gershwin piano and @YoYo_Ma played the Stradivari cello. (1/2)

What’s for breakfast? Try Rosa Parks’s recipe for peanut butter pancakes. You can find the recipe in her own handwriting from the @librarycongress collection. loc.gov/resource/mss85…

This makes my heart swell. ❤️ @lizzo you are a gift to all of us. And it’s YOU who just made history much more cooler. We appreciate all the @librarycongress love at the concert last night. We can’t wait to have you back. #LizzoAtLOC

Did you know Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, wrote a book in 8th grade titled, A Face without Freckles... Is a Night Without Stars. She extols the wonder of freckles with drawings and verse. Meghan submitted it to the @CopyrightOffice in 1996. From @librarycongress collection:

On Saturday, June 19, 1865, in Limestone County, Texas, plantation owner Logan Stroud stood on the front porch of this house to tell more than 150 of his enslaved workers that they were free. Photo from @librarycongress collection. blogs.loc.gov/teachers/2020/… #Juneteenth2023 🧵
