    I spent the weekend visiting my brother the MP for Kibra, Hon Ken Okoth, who is in Paris for medical treatment. In spite of the pain & suffering he has endured, I found him in a cheerful mood and high spirits. He is an extraordinary person with a strong faith and fortitude.

    In 1997 Kibaki was on a visit to Johannesburg at the invitation of the ANC. After hosting him for dinner,I took him on a tour of the city. When we passed the famous Market Theatre area, we saw a sign that the legendary musician Hugh Masekela was performing there that evening. 1/4

    On this day in 1979, I arrived in Britain to begin my job as a broadcaster at the BBC WS located at Bush House in London.I had no idea that this marked the start of an amazing journey filled with opportunities and growth that would transform my life beyond my wildest dreams.

    8-yrs ago, a horrific bomb attack left me crippled & plunged me into a protracted period of darkness & despair. By the grace of God, I found the strength to persevere & endure the pain & suffering and mend my shattered body & resuscitate my wounded soul and spirit. 1/2

    Really emotional day for me to welcome Imran Okoth, the new MP for Kibra, to parliament, and to know for sure that the legacy of my late friend and parliamentary colleague Kenneth Okoth will live on. Congratulations @ImranOkoth and all the best.

    Little did I know then that I will return home to become an MP thru his PNU party in Kamukunji, which in 2011 was an extension of his old constituency of Bahati. He was truly a transformative leader & a great statesman. A man of few words but lots of actions. Fare thee well. 4/4
