Our new Single Patient Record is expected to save around 500,000 hours of doctors' time each year, and could help prevent up to 20,000 A&E attendances annually
If we get these reforms right, the impact on clinicians and patients could be transformational, writes Health Secretary

Great to meet staff and patients @MFTnhs and see how AI is transforming diagnosis for lung cancer.
We’re rolling this tech out to every NHS trust in the country, which means millions more patients will benefit.
What I am bringing to the role of Secretary of State for Health and Social Care is not a change of course, but a change of gear.
I want to work with NHS staff across the country to build on progress, embrace innovation and deliver better care for patients.

Great to hear directly from those supporting Black men to take part in prostate cancer research, alongside @DavidLammy, earlier this week.
Conversations like this are vital to closing the evidence gap and building a fairer system.
Health and Social Care Secretary @jamesmurray_ldn and Deputy Prime Minister @DavidLammy met with representatives of community organisations and @ProstateUK to hear about their work supporting Black men to be part of prostate cancer research.
With the Single Patient Record, NHS staff will be able to view your health and care history securely, wherever you're treated.
Here’s @PreetKGillMP with the key things you need to know.
I know that Jewish people, and everyone experiencing discrimination, need action not words.

Together with NHS England, we'll waste no time in setting Lord Mann’s recommendations in motion to build a health service that lives up to its founding values.
We are supporting all of the recommendations from Lord Mann's review to tackle antisemitism and other forms of racism across the NHS.
This will mean that both NHS patients and staff will be better protected against hate.

As a man in my 40s, prostate cancer is something I’m beginning to think more about.
Â
Screening can be life saving, but it is complex.
Â
We’re following the science by focusing on those most at risk, helping men get earlier answers and better care, and avoiding unnecessary harm.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men.
We’re introducing a targeted screening programme for those most at risk, alongside over £20 million to improve research and treatment.

.@jamesmurray_ldn speaks to @SophyRidgeSky about the govt's new plan for patient records.
The health sec uses his own neurological condition as an example of how the digital transformation will bring together data from GPs, hospitals and other healthcare providers.
I know how distressing it is for patients to repeat their medical history over and over.
And the effort it takes for NHS staff to get the information they need.
We'll join up this fragmented system, helping clinicians give safer, co-ordinated care.
The Single Patient Record will mean NHS staff can securely see their patients’ medical history, no matter where they are treated.
It will mean safer, quicker and more accurate care.
