As our summers get warmer some of our people have asked for shorts to be provided as part of our uniform. I’m pleased to say that #TeamWAST will soon be able to access shorts for use at work in the summer months to make working in the hot weather more comfortable.

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending an investiture at #WindsorCastle to receive the Kings Ambulance Medal (KAM) from The Princess Royal. It was a day to feel proud and reflect on the highs and lows of the last 28 years in the sector. Thanks to all those along the way that

Someone said to me today you’re more likely to hurt yourself by dropping an AED on your foot than using it on a patient which is very true. This shows precisely why EVERY public place should have an AED just like every public place has a fire extinguisher. It’s a no brainer!

Meanwhile in Wales this week a school had a hero’s day where the kids went to class dressed up as their hero for #ChildrenInNeed2019. This lad dressed up as his hero, his mum, who’s a #TeamWAST paramedic. How cool is that! 👍

Today we’ve announced that from 1 April @WelshAmbulance will become a University NHS Trust. It’s an important step for us in our journey and strongly signals our commitment to the education of our people and to research in the sector. We’ll also launch our new bilingual crown

Today we took delivery of these new Toyota RAV4 Self Charging Petrol Hybrid RRVs as we commence our plan to totally replace our entire diesel powered RRV fleet with alternative fuel vehicles. #TEAMWAST

Profoundly humbled and honoured today to have been invited to attend the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of everyone @WelshAmbulance. To be able to pay respects and celebrate a long life of public service was a true privilege.
