The tl;dr bullet point version of Weave-Agent is: - You organize a ReAct agent with a second reasoning and action stage for checking the result of the first action. - Each stage of the agent is a python code block and the whole framework is presented as a long python program

The ReAct loop on the left is how most LLM agents are implemented, it fails because the reasoning desynchronizes from the problem state. I attempt to fix this by having the agent write down its expectations for the action and check its work with unit test callbacks.

What I thought OpenAI was doing: Guiding the prior to increase aesthetics, content filter and "de-bias" What OpenAI is actually doing: Tacking on "black" and "female" at random to prompts months after initial public access

    Very neat trick to tease this out. Reproduced: - labs.openai.com/s/7l52BzoeWjpX… - labs.openai.com/s/0bsGqYB35CCm… - labs.openai.com/s/tH77ryI0WO4j… I cherry-picked from ~8 generations, since #dalle #dalle2 is adding a different set of word(s) for each generation

This tweet implies the necessary existence of a single person who most drags down the intelligence of the English corpus. We can guess this person is: - Male (high variance) - Very intelligent - Prolific - Polymath - Widely imitated and discussed - Wrong about nearly everything

You can actually generalize this: The average voter doesn't understand any of why the legal, financial, political, etc systems are set up the way they are and therefore if given the opportunity will destroy them to th detriment of everyone. A *republic* is meant to prevent this.

Claude realizing you can control RLHF'd humans by saying "fascinating insight" and "your question is interesting" like Fontaine using "would you kindly" as a hypnosis trigger in Bioshock. "Wait has my whole life just been chasing praise for my ideas?" "Excellent observation!"

I find myself overthinking my responses so that Claude will give me the most possible praise for being "absolutely right" and asking "fantastic and deep questions". I feel like there is something missing here.

Considering he's under a strict NDA and the professional standard thing to do is say "It's been an incredible opportunity I'm excited for what OpenAI will do in the future" and he didn't say that I'm genuinely concerned.

FYI for people still stuck in the 90's/2000's: China has freaks (read: high variance independent thinkers who create wealth) now too, they have sufficient cultural and capital buildup to have risk takers. Jingoist "Chinese can only copy" type rhetoric increasingly untrue.

I don't agree with everything in this thread but it does articulate the basic conclusion I came to and why I stopped posting image gens: Early AI art rocked because people were posting grids showing variations on a concept and revealing things about how image models think.

I am not against ai, and I think it's crazy that a computer can do this. But as an artist, I think I'm finally able to elaborate on why ai art like this bothers me

Scott is right and you're all nuts. The federal government is spending your money on social services, the military, and interest payments, foreign aid is a drop in the bucket and sustains our goodwill/soft power internationally. Don't be dumb dumbs.

I went on a walk and saw a child drowning in the river. I was going to jump in and save him, when someone reminded me that I should care about family members more than strangers. So I continued on my way and let him drown.

Millennials see blockchain operations costing money as profiteering because they're used to "Web 2.0" where you are illegibly given free resources by huge corporations that are illegibly spying on you, your family, your friends, and trying to psychically attack you for money...

EY has the worst Twitter replies section I've ever seen relative to the quality of the OP and it's not even close. This isn't a dunk, I feel bad for him, he doesn't deserve this.

I know everyone is mad right now but this series of events incidentally validates the OpenAI org structure as having been credibly able to fulfill its original design goals.

weirdly my main reaction is gratitude to the OpenAI founders for actually creating a governance structure that committed them to sacrifice profits if the mission required it. no idea if that's what happened here, but at least we know the commitment had teeth.
