Interesting, funny, broadly appealing content spanning tech, science, internet culture, and sharp observations.
- the irony is that bitcoin was inspired by an invention that was a solution for email spam (hashcash) - which tried to solve the problem for open systems. bitcoin *is* the solution because all data in bitcoin is paid for and block size is limited. just require users to pay tobitcoin nodes have no concept of images AND any internet protocol, p2p, real time-gaming, client/server can have data hidden in formats, fields, messages. it's just FUNDAMENTAL for any moderately complex internet protocol and programming languages.
- Replying to @elonmuskThe federal reserve prints money and essentially hands it to oligarchs and billionaires in order for them to grow their business by hiring more people And then those billionaires take credit for the work that those people do Yay fake capitalism
- fundamental misunderstanding of why relay policies existed in the first place nothing to do with filtering spam it's to prevent transactions that were *not going to be mined* if only 1% of the miners choose to evade policy, then relays should followReplying to @namcios @BitcoinBeachBR and 2 others"You've been filtering arbitrary data out of your mempool for 15 years. Here's why that's suddenly dangerous you need to stop."
- Replying to @IchbinPack @adam3us and @GrassFedBitcoinit's easier to be in favor of "stopping stuff you don't understand" than "allowing stuff you don't understand" doing something is always "less clear" than doing nothing but bitcoin can't do nothing. it needs to adapt to a changing world. miners change. policy follows.
- Replying to @MajorianBTC and @adam3usnot really. pw2sh means there's nothing we can do. hashes are arbitrary, unvalidatable 32 byte data. So much of bitcoin are these hashes. they're everywhere, you can push 500 of them and it might really be part of a script we could require posk on all pubkeys though
- Replying to @theragetech @brucefenton and @nic_carterI think this fully answers the question x.com/brucefenton/st… Epstein funded lots of scientific and technical things in order to peddle influence. including Luke dash jr. and other core devs. so it's news but its not interesting news, nor specific to particular devsThis is old news. The Bitcoin Foundation (where I used to be Executive Director) funded early Bitcoin development. We made a deal with MIT to take over and pay the salaries of a few key developers. Joi Ito was in charge of the MIT Media Lab which this was part of. Much later

- Replying to @oomahqI wish we didn't know who they were and that they explained a lot about what they were doing not the other way around
- Replying to @NickSzabo4so dumb. every router routes arbitrary data. every cloud storage provider stores arbitrary data. bitcoin is a protocol. embedding arbitrary data is always and will always be trivial. fake addresses are the easiest way to always do this zero legal risk here
- Replying to @elonmuskthe more leverage humans have the more valuable and precious each life truly is. we will have more resources and higher investment in excellence from all people.
