I think a lot of people don't get that this will become accessible as the cost of intelligence continues to fall. Only a few organizations can do this today, but the frontier will move and this style of automation will be commonly available to most in a few years.

first impressions on grok3 — obviously, everyone is a little breathless on how fast grok was able to catch-up and compete as a SOTA model. That's a huge deal and it should be the lede for anyone covering it.

This is a really deep "understanding how VC works" tweet. The headline is: Cursor raises hundreds of millions at $10B, are these investors visionary or crazy?!?! That is because we intuitively assume that those investors lose money if Cursor's ultimately worth less than $10B.

My guess is this is easy to underwrite given how preference stacks work. If a company has raised very little and has $150m ARR, then an investment at $10b has good upside and very low downside risk (unless revenue literally goes to $0).

Highly recommend A Half-Built Garden (and I wish there was a well done movie with a similar vibe)

A lot of the vertical agents where AI is "not there yet" on just need 100-1000x more compute. The problem is that very few people will pay 1000x today. But: the costs are going to drop a lot. There are a lot of things that don't make sense today but that will in 18mo.

Timely reminder: 99% of the hot takes that flood your timeline in the next few days about Sam / OpenAI will be deeply uninformed guesses.

I built an internal tool in the car while taking my kid to daycare today — with bad Siri dictation to boot. I deployed it when I got back home in ~3 clicks. So far: working flawlessly. The future is incredibly awesome.

In the next 2 years you’ll be able to talk to your @Replit mobile app and it will instantly generate software for you. It’s what Siri *should* have been!

o1 Pro is in the API — can't wait to play with it tomorrow. It's expensive, but I think people will pay for it. Here's why: First, it's 2x the input cost of GPT4.5 and 4x the output cost.

Big News: AT&T has found over $100M using Unsupervised's AI Agents. This makes them one of the first companies to show bottom-line success with AI Agents and we are proud to be a part of it! Check the thread: I'll share a bit about how we're doing this + a link to see more.

The o1 Pro cost debate reminded me of this great video where @reidhoffman interviews @sama. Sam posed the question: what happens when the cost drops 1M times and someone is still willing to spend 1000x more? Why would they do that? Because it's worth it to them at that time...
