Happy Post: Adventures in Paris

dizzojayI'm back from Paris, and Darklight convention last weekend, my final con foray of the year. It was a great con with a good line up and I was meeting up with my dear friends,

The Friday evening was spent catching up in a nice local bistro, before heading back to the hotel for a rest before the madness began.
After registration on Saturday morning, we wandered around the merch stalls and checked out some of the photoshoot options. Such as ...
I think my 'blue steel' needs work!
But at least I proved I can look naughty when I want to!
And then, I let my inner hunt nerd loose ...
Over the weekend I had a couple of photo ops, the first one was with Jensen, and when he saw me, he said "ah, you made it!"
He gave me such a lovely squeeze - a real Jared-style, no-holds-barred hug!
Later, I had a first - a selfie with Jensen, and I love it so much!
(Mainly because it's all in the angle and I don't look like I've got fourtreen chins in this picture!!)
The following day I had the loveliest photo op with Ton, and got another mammoth squeeze. He really has got the BLUEST eyes!!
I had a great time getting autographs. I decided to get my favourite group photo signed, which I had taken at this con two years ago. Five of the people in that photo were at this con, so I still need to get Jared, Gen and Sam Smith to sign it at some point! Everybody loved the photo. Matt, Rob and Rich were discussing their matching trousers, and were very disappointed that they'd forgotten to bring them to this con. Jensen looked at it for ages and said "everyone really went for it in this picture, didn't they!"
I had drawn a portrait of Malchemical from the Boys for Misha to sign, and he really liked it. He said, "thank you for coming across the channel to see us." I said, "well, actually, I came under the Channel." He told me he's never 'Chunnelled', but hoped to one day!
I put together a signing sheet of a couple of Bobby portraits for Jim Beaver to sign. It was so lovely to see him as he's had such a tough few years.
After the convention on Sunday night, we all had grand plans to go into central Paris and have dinner, but the con ran late, and when it was finally all over, we were all too hot and too tired to even think about battling with the Metro and exploring Paris, so we ended up in the Hotel bar, which happened to be on the 40th floor, so the views weren't too shabby!
And, of course, it was great to spend our final evening together!
