In our ongoing quest to give small fandoms the love they deserve, I’ve decided that we need a community where we can not only share our love by creating fanwork or pimping the fandom, but by rec’ing the fanfic, fanart, authors, etc, in our favorite small fandoms.
All small fandoms are welcome, though there are some subject line and header requirements you need to follow. For more information, please read the rules and then join up and start rec’ing!
I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but I've been having to go through my comms and readjust the settings for all the spam comments we've been receiving. This is a very plotty fic. It's so well written that it could very easily be the next book in the series, um, written for adults obviously :) Bran and Will, now adults, have lost touch. Bran is a famous and somewhat disturbed pop-singer, and Will is a history teacher, and of course, still an Old One. And despite renouncing his memories, Bran is still of the High Magic.
I'm not going to go into more details, because the story is way too awesome for me to clumsily spoiler it for you.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did :D
BTW: I never really shipped Will/Bran. But now I do. Don't hover here: go and read. Give it two hundred words. Trust me. You'll be very very glad you did.
Title: Looking Down at Heaven Author: lamardeuse Fandom I Spy (TV 'verse) Character/Pairing: Kelly/Scotty Rating/Category: R/Slash Length: ~10,000 words Why I'm reccing this fic: This is a wonderful look into Scotty's head as he faces some hard truths about his partner... and himself. Ah, the boys are in fine form in this one.
Title: "i don't wanna feel your pain, when you swear it's all my fault" Author:goshdarnheck Fandom The Vampire Diaries (TV’verse) Character/Pairing: Damon/Stefan Rating/Category: PG13/Slash/Incest Length: 535 Why I'm reccing this fic: Because with just one line, that excerpted below, the author explains Damon’s and Stefan’s relationship perfectly. A brief excerpt: "But she has everything to do with you, dear brother. And that is what I'm interested in."
Title: Weaker Now Author:rebekahfair Fandom The Vampire Diaries (TV’verse) Character/Pairing: Damon/Stefan Rating/Category: NC17/Slash/Incest Length: ~1700 Why I'm reccing this fic: Hotter than a hot thing, and a great look into the brothers’ relationship. A brief excerpt: “You were a bad influence,” Stefan says, his hips unable to not move against his brother. Damon’s lips move to Stefan’s, not quite touching, and his tongue traces over Stefan’s fangs.
Why I'm reccing this fic: Where does one start with an exceptional piece of work like this? Hyarrowen has picked up on the odd intimacy of the scenes between King Henry and the French herald in the film version of Henry V and has constructed an alternate universe in which a deposed king is sent into exile with only one true - and at first rather reluctant - ally. As they wander around the world together, finding ways to earn their own living, falling into adventures side by side, their mutual dependency deepens into friendship, into love, and eventually into a full sexual relationship. This is accomplished without compromising either of their characters as established on the screen, and against a background of painstaking and absolutely fascinating historical accuracy. Here is Henry dealing with his own emotions and gaining a wider perspective on the whole concept of kingship, seeing the world beyond the shores of England and learning important lessons from it. When the time comes at last to consider returning home he is better equipped to be a king than he ever was before, and in addition he has the support and comfort of the one true love of his life.
If you like romance on a grand scale, which will sweep you up and carry you along and leave you breathless at the end, this is definitely the story for you. Prepare to be enchanted!

Title: Blindfold Author:nekare Fandom The Boondock Saints Character/Pairing: Connor/Murphy Rating/Category: PG13/Slash/Incest Length: ~3,700 words Why I'm reccing this fic: Builds a great picture of Connor and Murphy from childhood to the present, how their current relationship formed, or rather just always was. A brief excerpt:Connor has always been the one that believes the most. Murphy followed him into it, because that’s what he’s always done, but Connor, Connor could’ve been a priest, had all the markings for it. Now, he’s wavering, and Murphy right along with him. There’s something about following their mission, their calling, with their father that is breaking them down, something about the old man’s steely silence and unbreakable mentality that is crushing their moods and their faith and, if you want to be melodramatic, their souls. Murphy wonders how much more of it they can take.

A brief excerpt:Thomas expels a breath, reaching out. Touching Harry's emotions, a mess of blue, sets off red bursts in his outline, and Thomas vaguely hears a low moan of pleasure from him.

Besides, it was possible I was just being paranoid, wasn't it?

No explanation, no questions, no words of encouragement. Just Derek's hand jacking him slow and steady and John's secret late night fantasies coming to life.
Title: Machines Author:tsu_chan55 Fandom Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Character/Pairing: John/Derek Rating/Category: PG13/Slash/Incest/post-finale Length: ~1,400 words Why I'm reccing this fic: This is a great look at the future and how John adapts to it. A brief excerpt:The future is not what he expected. It smells like metal and smoke, a strong taste at the back of his mouth that is impossible to wash away with the tepid water or the gruel that they get served for meals.

He could feel the need to take control, overpower, knew his eyes darkened with that need, but he held it back, and grinned. "Just close your eyes and think of England."

A brief excerpt:By the end of the workout every muscle in his body was burning, and he was all but limping back to the house. His earlier slip had been apparently forgotten (though he’d caught Ronnie’s eyes on him several times during the workout), and Ben was finding that he legitimately enjoyed Ronnie’s company. He liked being near him, and they were becoming fast friends. And friends work out together, he ultimately concluded, it didn’t mean anything.
Title: Ponderosa Showmance Author:mosca Fandom Survivor Gabon Character/Pairing: Marcus/Charlie Rating/Category: NC17/Slash Length: ~4,200 words Why I'm reccing this fic: I did not watch Survivor, and I don’t know these people, so I read it as original fic, and I loved it! A brief excerpt:Charlie does not stop flirting. It seems like his strategy is to get Marcus drunk and taunt him with gay sex offers. For four and a half beers, Marcus has the strength to turn him down. But at the bottom of the fifth beer lie grandiose and terrible ideas.

I loved the slow build up to not only the beginning of their relationship, but to John’s acceptance that his The One might be a man. A brief excerpt:It had been Omar who had brought it up first, one night soon after the breakup with Sara, when John had been quietly sitting in one corner of his bar and moping over a glass of water.

And there’s hot sex. *g* A brief excerpt:And as soon as John stops laughing his ass off, he's going to make sure Sherman is okay. He really is. Except that Sherman's covered in carrot peelings and wilted lettuce and there's some orange sauce on his left sleeve, and oh god, John's lung capacity isn't prepared for this.

It’s just wonderfully written . . . the three of them dealing with their circumstances, and with the future Johnny has envisioned. Title: way down there Author:apocalypsos Fandom Shelter Character/Pairing: Zach/Shaun/Gabe Rating/Category: NC-17/Slash Length: 500 approx. Why I'm reccing this fic: It is sinful and delicious. Once you get past the initial shock of the pairings, it's very sexy and yet very Shelter--the loving and tenderness between Zach and Shaun really came through.

Seriously, this fic was really good. There was humor and a great supporting cast, and it left me with a smile on my face. A brief excerpt:"Dude. I bet he bleeds rainbow and cries sparkly tears. You really don't have any gaydar whatsoever. Don't they take away your membership card for that? Check for a tramp stamp next time, I'll bet it says "GAY" in tribal ink right above his ass. Now... tell me more about this "calculus" of which you speak," she said, waggling her eyebrows.
Title: Self-Empowerment for the Modern Ghost Author:sparky77 Fandom Being Human Pairing: Mitchell/George, Annie Rating/Category: R/Slash Length: ~2,830 words Why I'm reccing this fic: This is the first Being Human fic I ever read as I’d just seen the first (and now the second) ep, and I thought sparky77 captured the characters beautifully. A brief excerpt:She hates being needy and she hates being afraid, but she’s not ready to go, and she needs them. But they don’t need her. It’s not fair, but it’s not like there’s a place for ghosts to register complaints, and if there was, she’s positive it’s no place she wants to go.

A brief excerpt:The drive to mate was stronger than it had ever been. Despair undercut his need. Wolves mated for life. He'd thought he had no mate left to claim, when Marie died. But it wasn't going to be that easy.
