Talk about your favorite tropes in media or transformative works. (Feel free to substitute in theme/motif/cliche if "trope" doesn't resonate with you.)
I have a hard time picking favorite tropes for sure, but I do have some thematic faves (which I guess some of these count as tropes probably? I'm out of the loop. It's also been a busy day so this is going to be stream of consciousness.):
For fics about relationships: pining, unresolved sexual tension, humor (LOVE writing humor and wish I could do more of that), silliness in bed, resolved sexual tension (though weirdly enough UST is my preference over this one! There's something about it), only one bed, MOAR PINING, seriously what is it with me and pining and yearning, missing scenes, missed connections, getting together in old age, late awaking LGBTQ+, happy endings, ambiguous did-they-or-didn't-they endings, epistolary fics, rarepairs.
For gen fics: humor (all the humor!), friendship breakups/healing (friendship fics are just as meaningful to me as romance/getting together fics and I really need to write more of them), character studies, slice of life, missing scenes, worldbuilding fun, fics about the least known character ever, fics with almost no dialogue.

lol, I'm the same way honestly. I love pining and yearning, and no it doesn't say anything about me at all.....
Not one bit, nuh-uh!I'm also with you and on the late gay awakening and getting together at an older age. The latter one especially since I like that there's this acknowledgement of these characters having had prior experiences, past relationships and other partners, or even the opposite of not having any experience at all, but somehow they actually found love later in life. It can also be paired with the whole "late gay awakening" as well.
