Dining at Kasama is an exercise in patience. Expect a line at the door if you’re coming for breakfast or pastries (pro tip: order online to skip the wait), or a hard-to-come-by reservation if you want to stay for dinner. The first Michelin-starred Filipino restaurant is at the top of every food list, and with good reason. Chefs Genie Kwon and Tim Flores have gone to great lengths to create a dining experience that wows guests any time of day, and across budgets. Breakfast features Kwon’s creative pastries (don’t miss the ube and huckleberry Basque cake) and comforting entrées. Pop in for lunch to sample the genius Kasama combo sandwich, a take on Chicago’s classic Italian beef made with shaved pork adobo and longanisa sausage. Or splurge on the 13-course tasting menu dinner. However you get yourself in, Kasama will impress.

We never meant to open a tasting-menu restaurant. That was our response to COVID. We received our Michelin star and figured, if it’s not broke, let’s keep going.

Breakfast Sandwich

Channel "The Bear" and start your day with this breakfast sandwich: a fluffy square egg, crispy longanisa, and melted cheese on a pillowy bun. Add hash browns for crunch.

Mushroom Adobo

Garlic fried rice, soy-braised mushrooms, and a crispy-edged over-easy egg come together for this nearly meatless take on classic Filipino adobo. (Vegetarians, take note: Chicken jus is used in the prep.)

Black Truffle Croissant

Kasama’s $15 truffle croissant is legendary. Pearl sugar, a honey drizzle, and shaved truffle atop a flaky pastry filled with black truffle and Délice de Bourgogne cheese is a decadent splurge that lives up to the hype.
