On this day, 25 years ago, the Indica was unveiled. India’s first truly indigenous car laid the foundation for Tata Motors’ car biz. Was there at Pragati Maidan on Jan 15th, 1998 & today am honoured to celebrate the 25th anniv with Ratan Tata the man behind this legendary car.

Neither Tata nor Mahindra have the base platform or an engine powerful enough for such a heavy car. And it makes no sense to develop one (would take years & no business case). You obviously have no idea how the auto industry works..

But, in the spirit of ‘vocal for local’ should he not have got the Tata’s or Mahindra’s to build him a spectacular Indian armoured limousine?

Ola scooter in flames highlights safety issues with batteries. NMC cells more prone to ‘Thermal Runaway’ or spontaneous fires than LFP cells. @OlaElectric must investigate & give us answers. Thank God no one injured and # burnol not needed!

Dont jump before you can barely crawl! Such ‘secrets’ maybe good for valuation but not for @OlaElectric’s credibility. Scooter needs to be sorted out first, before even thinking cars which is a completely different ball game that can’t be won with cash alone.

Osamu Suzuki, the man who took a punt on India and completely transformed India’s automotive landscape, has passed away at age 94. His legacy of putting an entire sub-continent on wheels starting with his humble 800 can never ever be forgotten.

Rs 9.99 lakh for the MG Windsor!! Plus Rs 3.5 per km for battery rental. So even after 60,000 km of driving you pay just Rs 2,10,000km more!! Windsor could be the shot in arm the EV market needs.

Tried powering up my S1 Pro yesterday. NOTHING happened! Called the Ola rep who sent a truck pronto to pick up my dead scooter. Shocking that a scooter less than 2months old &under 100km on odo should pack up like this. Smacks of the lax quality culture that plagues @OlaElectric

Ford India finally pulls the plug on India operations. Shuts down both Sanand and Maraimalai plants thus ending a quarter century of make-in-india models. Ford brand to continue in India with niche products like Mustang and Ranger. Officially announcement expected today
