Bootstrap reimagines math education by integrating Computer Science (CS), Data Science (DS), and AI concepts into mainstream subjects. By highlighting the underlying CS, DS, and AI concepts that arise in core classes, our materials connect learning across the school day and help students master the skills they need to succeed in cutting-edge degree programs and jobs.
Here’s 5 reasons why you should consider partnering with us:

Our Research-based Curricula
Our Curricula
Bootstrap offers free, field-tested, and research-validated materials that improve student understanding of STEM. Our computing modules focus on deep exploration that supports and engages all kinds of learners, and can be integrated into classes they already have.
More About Our Curricula
Our Research
Our curricula, tools, pedagogy are based on over two decades of research. We study how teachers learn to integrate computer and data science, as well as how students learn through integrated computer and data science. Our research partners have included experts in each of math and science education.

Our Professional Learning Approach
Bootstrap offers invigorating professional learning for teachers in the form of highly interactive and immersive workshops paired with ongoing support throughout the academic year. Our workshops cover all aspects of the Bootstrap curriculum and give teachers hands-on experience with our materials and tools. We complement workshops with ongoing support throughout the academic year to ensure teachers have a team to lean on as they use Bootstrap in their classrooms.

Our Partnerships
As specialists in integrating computer science and data science into other subjects, Bootstrap partners with experts in our host disciplines. We also partner with professional educator communities in those disciplines. We’ve worked with leaders at the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) and AAPT (American Association of Physics Teachers) to develop materials and approaches that respect cross-disciplinary pedagogy and learning objectives.
Other partners include university faculty, foundations, non-profits, businesses, and individuals who support our work or help us expand our impact.

Our Team and Community
The Bootstrap Team brings decades of research and classroom experience to our work. We also hold a deep passion for helping address inequities in education. We are driven by the ideals of uplifting teachers and supporting them to create powerful learning experiences for their students. Our entire frontline staff is made up of current and former teachers with experience in environments that range from rural schools in Oklahoma to New York City Public Schools.
Beyond the core team, the Bootstrap Community is composed of hundreds of teachers across the country (and some abroad!), who discuss their classroom experiences, share their pacing guides and adaptations, ask questions, and more. These educators are joined by CS majors and professional engineers, who volunteer to teach computing and data science to you people in their communities with Bootstrap.
Bootstrap is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives.
