"Trust us, you look amazing, you look beautiful. And from up here, you also look like one thing: Homo sapiens is all of us. No matter where you're from or what you look like, we're all one people." – @AstroVicGlover #ArtemisII #EarthWeek2026
The Earth is seen mostly in shadow, with lights visible down below and just a hint of light reflecting off one edge.

Happy 250th birthday, America! We got you a present. 🇺🇸 The red, white, and blue stars of this globular cluster shine like a sparkler waved on a dark night in this image from @NASAHubble, released in celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary.

What a great moment! Most important Lucas also met mission Rise. We got the whole family of Rise’s together, from prototype to mass produced. #moonjoy

The young designer of Rise meets a @NASAArtemis II astronaut! Eight-year-old Lucas Ye had the brightest smile as Artemis II pilot @AstroVicGlover showed him Rise and congratulated him at the Ames summer picnic. A true experience of Moon joy.

Tomorrow, we're announcing the astronauts flying aboard Artemis III, the mission that will test rendezvous and docking capabilities with commercial lunar landers in low Earth orbit. If you could ask the Artemis III astronauts any question, what would you ask them?

Once in a Blue Moon 🔵 While the Blue Moon that you'll be able to spot in the night sky this Sunday, May 31, won’t actually appear the color blue, it will still be a rare sight! This name refers to a second full Moon visible in a single calendar month.
During the lunar flyby observation period, the Artemis II crew captured a detailed image of the Orientale basin, a 600-mile-wide impact crater marked by a dark patch of ancient lava that erupted through the Moon’s crust billions of years ago. Credit: NASA

A second full moon in May? What a treat! 🌕 Look to the sky in the early hours of May 31 to catch the Blue Moon at peak illumination.

A new NASA tool is making wildland firefighting safer 🔥 Fire crews in enclosed bulldozers can't always tell when outside temperatures have reached an unsafe level. NASA scientists developed a thermal sensor that alerts the operator, while simultaneously providing invaluable
James Thompson, an assistant research professor at University of Texas at Austin and a principal investigator with NASA’s Earth Science Technology Office, tests out locations on a fire dozer where the FireTIRS thermal infrared imager could be mounted. Thompson was part of a stakeholder event held between NASA’s FireSense project and the Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC), which included demonstrating thermal sensors on the AFC’s fire dozers.
Alabama Forestry Commission wildland firefighter Jason Berry teaches NASA Wildland Fires Technology Program Manager Teresa Kauffman how to drive a fire bulldozer during a stakeholder event April 23-24 in Andalusia, Alabama. NASA FireSense scientists have been working with the AFC to integrate thermal sensors onto these dozers, which notify the dozer operator if the radiant heat from a nearby fire reaches a dangerous threshold.
