Blood Coolers are mission-based items in Gex: Enter the Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. In both games, they were part of a mission that required Gex to destroy a certain number of them scattered through out the level (usually ranging from 3 to 8). They were introduced in Gex: Enter The Gecko, and were prevalent in a handful of Scream TV levels.

In Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko, they made a cameo reappearance in Mystery TV as one of the level's missions. This mission was extra special, as it also required the player to transform into DracuGex to reach them. Destroying a Blood Cooler was as simple as tail whacking the glass jug container on top of the machine. However, these coolers were usually harder to find than they were to destroy.

Trivia

• Besides the TV remote and other collectibles, this is one of the most iconic and recognizable items in the series.
• This is the only mission-based item in the series to make a reappearance in another game.
• The design and name of the Blood Cooler is obviously a parody of the freestanding water cooler, a staple water dispenser in the workplace.
• As the label and contents of the cooler may imply, it is also a reference to Count Dracula. This connection is made even stronger in the third game, as Gex needs to transform into a vampire in order to reach them.
