London//Leeds-based shoegaze/gothgaze/indie band Cloud Studies have shared their new single “Hiding Place“ alongside a music video.
The song serves as the closing track of their debut EP ‘Cloud Studies’, out tomorrow, June 19 via Happy Robots / The Weird Beard. Get it here.
Cloud Studies current line up consists of Adam Cresswell, Martin J Langthorne, and Michael Malley. Together, they create a panoramic sound drenched in reverb that blends elements of indie, shoegaze, and post-punk goth.
Built around layered guitars, tense rhythms and bursts of noise, ‘Hiding Place‘ explores themes of obsession, stalking and the uneasy space between fascination and fear. Drawing on shoegaze, post-punk and noise rock influences, The song is Cloud Studies at their darkest, and a sound they call ‘gothgaze.’
