Yeah!!! It's my Momma's 80th birthday!!!
We planned, we put our thoughts together,
we got busy, we created,
we phoned, we emailed, we shopped,
and some of us travelled over the miles
to celebrate Momma's birthday.
Some of us schemed (in a good way) to make sure
it would be a Surprise!
And it was!
My baby sister, Diana invited my Mom and Dad to supper..
and we all were waiting here..ready!
My neice Karly and my son Adam were the MC's
for the evening,
and were hamming it up for the photos (of course)
;)
Relatives visited and laughed together.
It's so good to bring family together.
The room we had was situated on the waterfront
and was very beautiful!
We played games and won prizes.
This is my twin brother David (just kidding).
I say that sometimes..we're only 2 years apart
and we're close like twins ;)
This is my baby brother, Doug.
We're only 17 months apart,
and no matter what he says,
he'll always be Dougie to me!!!
He's worked hard for many years,
always many miles away, but is now retired
and ~home~
Hope to see his sweet face more often!
:)
The theme for the party was Casino.
Our Momma loves going to the casino.
put together all the decorations
and took care of the cake.
Amazing job!
Momma loved it, right down to the last detail!
A lot of work went into that cake and those table decorations!
Even the napkins were casino-related.
Isn't she a sweetheart?!
She's my nieces daughter Chloe,
and Denise and Max's grand~daughter.
She calls my sister Mia instead of grandma, and calls her grandpa Grumpy.
(He's not grumpy though...he's a sweetie too)
Too cute!
Joy was all over this little one,
and a few others, I might add,
as we sang Happy Birthday to Momma!
Our evening was filled with the young
and "young at heart".
I'd have to say that the game
that brought the most fun and laughter
was giving my mom
some homemade scratch and play cards,
which Denise had creatively put together.
Momma would scratch a spot on the card
and she would either win a prize or have to tell a story.
Either way, she won a prize :),
but the stories she would have to tell were written on cards
that began with a phrase with which she would
finish the rest of the story that it related to.
She had to tell it in less than a few minutes,
(which we knew would be hard for Mom since she is such a "detail" person) Lol
Oh how she laughed and we laughed
when she'd tell these stories of our lives together.
Funny moments that have happened over the years!
A super fun evening!
You just had to be there!
Happy Birthday Momma!
We all adore you xo
Momma and my boys xoxo
All my heart,
