~There's something about that word "rustic" that just makes me beam inside and out.
I used to love things that were new....but not so much anymore.
Older, weathered, shabby and rustic are my new language of style.
And the home-made never goes out of fashion in my opinion.
My hubby puts my longings into reality when it comes to
carpentry or heavier items and pretty well anything that involves a hammer and nails..lol
And this we did together...placing these old shutters
up against vinyl siding in our side yard. Its not quite completed but we'll be patient until we can come across one more old shutter.
Then as I see what I'd like to hang from some of them, that'll come into being as well.
That garden gate is made of old pallet boards and I just love it!
My husband recently split our back yard in half by adding a fence within our already existing fence.
(Does that make sense?) Lol
Well he did it because I asked him for some privacy from the area where our dogs play,
but mostly so I could plant some perennials without them being pee-ed on. Lol
The fence solved it.
Plus it really gave me some privacy.
The lavender grows lovely here.
My peony is content in the corner.
My hydrangea is extravagant in her borders.
Once he got the fence up he asked me if I'd like the little garden gate removed
since the dogs wouldn't be able to get at it now anyway.
I adore that rustic little gate and garden area he made....I wouldn't
change a thing about it.
He made it lovingly with his own hands for me and it's beautiful to me.
That shabby homemade clothesline
just blesses the socks off of me!
I love, love, love it!
I haven't painted it as of yet, but I'd like to give her a coat of white.
As I look through my antique old sink filled
with lavender and succulents,
I love seeing bedding or clothing drying in the gentle breezes.
I'm a country girl at heart.
Oh I must go check on my...
hens & chicks.
It's all part of this
country loving!
lol
All my heart,
Deborah
