Autumn and forever friendships

Image

Hello Autumn
and hello to you!
Image

Thanksgiving was lovely with family gathering.
I was able to venture out with my dear brother and capture some scenery
and moments of thanks~living.
Thats what I call it...."thanks~living".
I said it accidentally one day,
 last year..
then it was revealed to my heart right away
that it wasn"t an accident.
Thanks~living is really thanksgiving....
just living thanks daily...
moment by moment.
The only way to truly live.

Image

My brother loves the sumac.
I can understand why.
Its a flame of colour,
attracting the eye.

Image

Leaves on fire...
reds that amaze and astonish.
Captured in hearts that relish this unspeakable beauty.
It all speaks "glory to God",

glory to God!

glory to God!

Image

Train tracks...
I am drawn to them.
Full of sentiment and wonder.
Adventure pulling...

Image

Perception.
Its all colour and profuse beauty.

Profound
yet
simple.

Image

My lifelong friend..my brother.
This is a true friend.
David I love you longtime,..
you are "gift to me" and
I love you forever.

You don"t even know how beautiful you are.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

You surround me with love and beauty

Image

Their absolute beauty makes me smile...coneflowers.
I see so many of these this summer in many a garden
and they never cease to attract my eye.

Image

Oh hollyhocks..you have long been a friend of mine!
Gracing this stone wall in Elora Ontario...you bless me.
I met my dear brother there for a 4 day visit
and the laughs began as soon as we got there.
Summer holidays and little getaways I love you!

Image

Look up!
Just about everywhere I look there is this "beauty"
this revelation of the Love that steals my heart more and more.

Image

Country living..you draw me.
Serenity, peacefulness and those greens..oh yes, those greens!
Vibrant..life!
Dancing in fields of green.

Image

This Elora....a quiet little village along the Grand River.
Outdoor eating, and great photo opps
and a very "dear to my heart b&b".

Image

Porches....
are you a fan?
I adore them.

Image

Beauty in the "not as obvious " places.

Image

Arched windows always speak to me.
Soft country road scenes urge me to come and see.

Image

Oh your faces...aren't you cute?!
Does anyone of you ever pull off on the side of the road
and talk to these sweet faces?
I do!

Blessings on each one of you.
Enjoy your moments.

All my heart,
Deborah xo

Old White Chalk Paint Project

Image

Summer greetings!
I finally took the paint brush to hand!

Image

It was ebony and I chalk painted it Old White
(Annie Sloan Chalk Paint)
I changed up the door handles for glass knobs

Image

I feel like there's a freshness to this room now
and a lingering presence of summer

Flowers are blooming
and the time of summer has come.
Love the summer breeze
and the sofness it brings with it.

Coffee cake, tea & yarn

Image

Another birthday...
another reason to give thanks!
We celebrated my sister, Denises' birthday yesterday
and I tried this

Image

Coffee Cakes
have been catching my eye lately..
and I must say they are quite tasty.
They are a nice change from the ordinary
and I loved the gathering
of
lemon and raspberries
together in this spring recipe.

Image

My spring flecked sock is coming along...
love this sock yarn
a lot!
(Koigu)

Wishing you a day filled
with relaxing and creative moments
and time for a leisurely cup of tea

Spring days

Image

Sweet quiet moments at home with family

...
and with my oven

 baking up some

Cranberry Coffee Cake
so so so so yummy!

I found this recipe on  Pinterest
at

Image

We've celebrated a few birthdays already so far this year..
which always leads us into

spring!

Image

I just rolled this yarn skein into a ball
so I can start another pair of socks.
They look spring-like,
wouldn't you say?
I love the specks of colour!
I finished up my sons'pair and they fit him like a glove...
(except not really, because then they wouldn't fit on his feet lol)
You get me right?
Oh boy!

Image

Oregon chai latte...

I   l o v e  this drink!
So yummy.
I picked up the box of it so I can make my own at home
anytime
desire.
Lol
Deelish.
Sprinkle with a little cinnamon
and you have a decadent afternoon
or..anytime of day treat.

Image

I've been de-cluttering and re-arranging
and bringing "stuff" to our local Value Village.
Spring does that to ya...
makes you want to nest and get your hands dirty
and "get to things" to make ready for
winter leaving.
So ya...I'm on that,
and Im happy about it.

Image

I cleaned out and re-arranged our dining room armoire
and I think its time to
"chalk paint".
I've been wanting to do this armoire for a few years
and
I know it'll be nice!
It'll be either white or old white that I choose.
And I'm up for some new door handles for sure!
A makeover. :)
We have a local shop
that sells chalk paint now!
Yes!!
Amazing!
I'll show you the before and after when I get to it.

What are you up to?
Projects? Spring things?

All my heart,
Deborah

Something I said I'd never do...

Image

Happy Saturday!!

Well here in Ontario we're in the heart of winter
and what better time than for settling in
and putting some yarn on our needles!
:)

Image

I've been knitting for a few years
but still have lots to learn...
but I have to admit that making socks
was the one thing I said  I'd  never attempt.

Ever say "never"?
Lol
That was until I saw a pair of socks in a photo somewhere and
with wide-open jaw
said "I have to make those"!
They were a pair of beautiful slouch socks
and I made them
and have another pair for my daughter on my needles.
But....I am only part way through the second pair...a Christmas project
for next year.

After those I decided I'd like to try regular socks,
so I am keeping it going.
These are my just finished regular socks.
And I'm working on a pair for my son
(the blue-grey ones are his)

Image

He likes socks with
a shorter leg length.
The first sock is complete and they fit him perfect!
Success!

Its a great pastime through the winter especially
and so relaxing.

Image

I have a top on these needles!
So excited about this one too.
Its nice to have a few different projects on the go.

Image

I bought three of these little project bags on sale
at my knitting class store.
So cute and so handy!

I'm truly glad that I ventured out
and decided to try making "socks"!
Its getting easier and its a great little project to have on the go.
So handy when you are sitting and waiting at an appointment,
you can just pull this out and away you go!
Lol

Deborah xo
