Angler
Angler is a few doors down from Boulevard, and it enjoys equally misty views of the Ferry Building and Bay Bridge. This Michelin-starred seafood spot, led by chef Joe Hou, comes from the renowned Saison team. Inside the rustic hunting lodge, fish and antlers mount the walls, and a grizzly bear growls by the bathroom. It’s all about the open kitchen and live fire grill that emits an occasional burst of flames, with bundles of flowers and herbs drying overhead. Every imaginable creature emerges from the kitchen, like antelope tartare, crispy squabs with curled claws, and hot fried frog legs.

Embered Oysters with Smoked Chili Butter
It’s better than oysters grilled on a grate. Here, a rotating selection of oysters sits directly on the coals and sizzle in sweet, smoky chili butter until plump and juicy.
