Boulevard

Boulevard is a legend, icon, and kind of a diva. Located on the ground floor of the historic Audiffred Building that survived the 1906 earthquake, guests enjoy twinkling views of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge. The restaurant boasts over-the-top Belle Epoque interiors, repolished by acclaimed designer Ken Fulk in 2021. Fulk added rich jewel tones and patterns, and he also brushed up the taxidermized peacocks. Ingredients come from the farmers market, menus change often, and every dish is served on crisp white tablecloths. After three decades as a Californian destination, longtime chef Dana Younkin and manager Jacob Paronyan recently became partners to continue the legacy. For the full experience, sit down in the dining room for a prix-fixe menu. For a glimpse of the glamor, slide in for a cocktail at the bar or lounge, where there are a la carte options.

Nobody’s building a restaurant like Boulevard. Nobody can afford to, with the hand-blown glass, ironwork, and mosaics. It’s from a time when you could still do that and provide a level of service.

Twice-Baked Celery Root Soufflé & Dungeness Crab

Oakes describes her cooking style as “the little black dress with fun embellishments.” Her light and airy seasonal soufflés get glam with caviar, truffles, or locally treasured Dungeness crab.
