Lunette Cambodia

  • Cambodian
  • Casual
  • Takeout
  • Family Friendly

San Francisco’s only Cambodian restaurant serves homestyle comforts to folks from the country, and revelations to anyone trying the cuisine for the first time. It’s located inside the main food hall of the Ferry Building, the beautiful Beaux-Arts landmark at the foot of Market Street. Locals and tourists alike flow through the historic transit center, and step up to the counter of Lunette’s casual and colorful storefront. The simple menu gently urges you to either “eat rice” or “eat noodles,” along with a few spicy salads and fried snacks, and precisely one wine and one beer on rotation. The Ferry Building skews toward daytime hours, so come for a leisurely lunch or an early dinner, or pick up a takeout order to slurp in the comfort of your hotel room or home.

Located in the Ferry Building with the hustle and bustle, I’m trying to evoke the same feeling as eating in the streets in Cambodia.

A bright green herb paste infuses flavor into this lemongrass chicken, stir-fried in a hot wok and piled on top of fragrant ginger rice.

The salt-and-pepper chicken wings are a must-order, tossed with kampot pepper sourced from Cambodia, which adds a unique flavor that’s earthy and floral.
