The CD Sunday Challenge - Fifties Fun

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog -is Fifties Fun.  I have made a calendar for a change this week and here it is:

Image

I went straight to my Viva La Divas cd-rom from Joanna Sheen for this challenge.  I always have a good giggle looking through the images on this cd, and you can change the captions or names as I have done here.  The main image is printed onto photo paper and then matted onto holographic card.  The calendar is matted on the same card.  The flower is created using some Prima flowers from my stash, with a pearl in the centre. The leaves are created with a Nellie Snellen punch. Some co-ordinating ribbon was then threaded through some eyelets to complete the calendar.

My calendar is also for the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge - Bingo - I chose Ribbon/Flowers/Punches

Crafty Creations Challenge - Thank You Card or Gift (this is a gift for a friend).

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

A New Baby Boy

Good Afternoon

Thought I would share a new baby card with you today:

Image

The main image is stitched using a paper embroidery pattern and metallic threads.  I paper-pieced the blanket.  This is then matted onto blue holographic card.  The base card is a white linen, punched with a Martha Stewart deep edge punch.  Peel-offs complete the card.

My card is for the following challenges:

Warm Wishes For A Very Happy Christmas

I wanted to wish all my lovely followers a very happy and healthy Christmas.  It has been a pleasure to have your company over the last year.  Thank you for your interest in my creations and all your lovely comments which make my day.  I consider myself very lucky to have made some lovely blogging friends.  I hope you have a wonderful time with your families over the festive season.

Emma brought a school letter home on Tuesday, which included a Tyrolese Carol.

If I may, I would like to share it with you:

The Wise may bring their learning,
The rich may bring their wealth,
And some may bring their greatness,
And some their strength and health:
We too would bring our treasures
To offer to the King
We have no wealth or learning
What gifts then shall we bring?

We'll bring him hearts that love him
We'll bring him thankful praise,
And souls for ever striving
To follow in his ways:
And these shall be the treasures
To offer to the King,
And these are gifts that ever
our grateful hearts may bring.

Every good wish to you all.

From Our Home To Yours

Good Morning

I've not been able to post because I haven't had a computer. this has also meant I haven't been able to visit any other blogs, so my apologies for that.  I had lots of Christmas Cards lined up to post during the last week but couldn't access them.  Here is one of those cards, made for a neighbour.

Image

This adorable image is from Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom.  I've used this cd so much for Christmas Cards.  I die cut the image with a Nestabilities and matted it onto some red card.  The backing papers are from the cd-rom.  The star border is a Marianne die with holographic paper threaded through.  The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp, sat on a star cut using an x-cut die.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

My Time To Craft Challenge - Winter Pals

Moving Along With The Times - Cats and Dogs

Crafts and Me Challenge - Christmas Bumper Challenge - Anything Goes

Have A Furry Happy Birthday

Good Afternoon

I can't get warm today, have been sat with a hot water bottle on my back all day!

I have a few birthdays around Christmas.  This is the card I have made to send to an old school friend.

Image

I used the fabulous Furry Friends cd-rom again for this card.  I do love this cd (you may have noticed lol).

I cut the image with a spellbinders label die and then hand-cut a slightly larger mat from Coredinations card stock.  Both backing papers are printed from the cd-rom, one of which I punched around using an EK success paw punch.  I created a smaller mat for the sentiment, for which I used a glittery peel-off.  Some pearls were added to the sentiment and finally 3 buttons were added.

I printed a matching insert from the cd-rom which I personalised before printing.

My card is for the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge - Bingo - I chose buttons, punches/die-cuts, pearls.

Crafting When We Can - Friendship

Totally Papercrafts - Anything but Christmas

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Creature

CD Sunday Challenge - Things with Whiskers

The Cutie Pie Challenge - Use a Sentiment

Christmas Wishes

Good Morning

After seeing the lovely book cards over on Edna's blog, I was inspired to have a go!  I always struggle with ideas for Christmas gifts for the teachers at Emma's school and thought this was the perfect gift. I need to make 3 more!

Image
For this book card I used papers from Making Cards magazine, sillver mirror card for matting and layering, and I die cut some Marianne flourishes out of the silver card.

Image
I die cut some of the ironworks dies to add to the spine of the book.

Image
I cut out a frame for the inside and ran it through my big shot using Divine Swirls embossing folder.

Image
I attached some silver organza ribbon to tie the card shut and the tealights are attached using foam pads.

My card is for the following challenges:

The Dog's Whiskers

Good Evening

Two posts in a day - wonders never cease!

This is a special Christmas card I was asked to make for someone with a Westie:

Image
I went straight to the fab Furry Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen and found the perfect image.  The backing paper is also from the cd-rom.  I made the shaker window using a wonky rectangle spellbinders die and then ran it through the big shot with swiss dots embossing folder.  Pinflair Ice Diamond and snowflakes punched with a Martha Stewart punch were used to create the shaker elements.  Marianne dies were used for the ribbon border and the poinsettias, and crystal glitter was added to the centres of the flowers for extra sparkle.  The sentiment is Lili of the Valley stamped with Fired Brick distress ink.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

The Cat's Whiskers

Good Afternoon

This weeks challenge over at The CD Sunday Challenge is Things With Whiskers.  Having been asked to make a couple of calendars with cats on, I turned straight to Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom and came up with the following:

Image
I made lots of these desk calendars last year and they were very popular, and I've received a number of requests for them for 2012.  Inside the little drawers I put a post-it note and pencil.  I bought the tutorial as a down-load after seeing them on my lovely friend, Edna's blog.  The tutorial is by Jenny Moors and her blog is www.stampingmoments.blogspot.com.

My calendars are for the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Things with Whiskers

Totally Papercrafts - Anything but Christmas

Divas By Design - Anything Goes

Have a lovely evening.

Thinking Of You At Christmas

Good Morning

Well the days are marching on and I'm in a panic about whether I'll be finished in time!

The weather here has been so strange, I've never know so many hailstone showers!  And I've never seen hailstone so big!!!!  Hope you are keeping safe and warm.

My card for today features the lovely Tatty Ted.  I've had so many cards from high street stores with this character on, and my eldest daughter loves Tatty Ted, so I just had to treat myself to the cd-roms.

Image
The image, backing paper and sentiment are all printed from the cd-rom.  Flowersoft was added to the main image.  I've used a combination of spellbinders and Marianne dies.  Mirror card has been used for the baubles.  Little ribbon bows and peel-off chains were added to complete the design.

My card is for the following challenges:

CES challenge - Use a bear

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Tree and baubles (there is a tree in the main image behind teddy)

Teddy Bea In A Twist

Good Afternoon

Over at Teddy Bo Top Tips Hazel has provided a tutorial to make a twisted easel card.  I haven't played with my favourite teddies for a while as I've been up to my eyes with Christms, but I needed to make a card for a December birthday so I followed the tutorial and here is my card:

Image
This adorable image is pre-coloured, so I printed her onto some glossy photo paper.  The shape she is sat on is a nestability label die, the papers are all from a Making Cards magazine, the sentiment is sat on an Ironworks die, as is the floral arrangement to which I added a decorative pin threaded with beads, and some bakers twine tied into a small bow.  The mulberry paper flowers have been in my stash for ages!

Crafty Calendar December Challenge - Cold and Frosty

Good Morning

Don't the months fly by quickly?  It doesn't seem 2 minutes since I was invited to join the design team at Crafty Calendar and here we are on my 3rd month already!

Our theme for this month is cold and frosty and here is my card:

Image

The image I have used is a digi stamp from Pollycrafts Swing and Slides range, I love this range of stamps! I coloured the image using promarkers and coloursoft pencils and added some Glossy Accents to the girls glasses, the snowmans nose, eyes and buttons.  I then added some Pinflair Snow Dust around their feet.

The backing papers are from Crafters Companion Snowman cd-rom.  The embossing uses an embossing plate that came in a bundle when I bought my big shot.  The mats that the image and sentiment are sat on are cut using spellbinders dies.  The crystal snowflakes have been in my stash for ages, they were ridiculously expensive and I find it difficult to bring myself to use them!!!  All the edges were distressed using Faded Jeans Distress Ink and Cut N Dry Foam.

I do hope you can join in with our challenge this month.  Please do pop over to the Challenge blog to see the lovely cards my teamies have made.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch

Paper Sundaes - Winter Wonderland

My card for today shows the true meaning of Christmas:

Image

Collecting The Christmas Tree

Good morning

My card for today is from the decoupage section of Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia cd-rom:

Image
I love this image, particularly the couple in the car who have just collected their Christmas Tree.  I think it's such a lovely scene.

I printed the dcoupage onto matt photo paper and layered it up with Collall glue gel.  The sentiment is also from the decoupage sheet.  The backing paper, also from the cd-rom, is printed onto Crafters Companion satin paper.  I used the same paper for the insert and added a 'white area' to write in.  Some pinflair snow dust was added to one of the trees on the backing paper for extra texture.

My card is for the following challenges:

Happy Birthday Emma

Hello

I was meant to post this card yesterday but had a really bad day do didn't get it done.  I'm really struggling with my pain at the moment so will keep this brief.

Yesterday was Emma's 11th Birthday and yesterday morning she headed off on a school trip, due back Friday.  This is the card me and hubby sent her:

Image
Emma is a big Manchester City fan and one of her presents was the new away shirt.  I photographed the shirt to use for her card.  I created the football boot out of black, red and gold card, added silver eyelets and metallic red cord for the laces.  The wording was created using an x-cut alphabet die.  The backing paper is from a Crafters Companion cd-rom.  She loved her card - and her new shirt!

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

PaperPlay Challenges - Shaped cards

One Stitch At A Time - Anything Goes

Creative Craft Challenge - Free For All

I'm missing Emma already but know she's going to have a fantastic time.  On Friday we're going to have a birthday tea (a takeaway of Emma's choice).

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Thank You

Good Afternoon

It's a while since I joined in with the Less Is More Challenge, and as I needed to make a Thank You card, I decided to tie it in with their challenge for this week which is Silhouettes.

Image
I started by embossing the card using a Nestabilities die. I stamped this lovely stamp from Dimension Fourth and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. With the die in situ, I used ink dusters to apply ink from a Big & Juicy Waterfall ink pad. I added silver peel offs to the card to complete (I'm not actually sure about the positioning of the peels offs, but they're firmly stuck now so will have to stay.

My card is for the following challenges:

Less Is More - Silhouettes

Allsorts Challenge - One Layer Card

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Give Thanks

Crafts and Me Challenge - Keep It Simple

Sentimental Sundays - Thank You Card

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
