Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas

I would like to wish a very Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends.  I hope you have a lovely time over the festive season.

I've made a card using the gorgeous Once Upon A Christmas 2 cd-rom from Creative Crafting World.  A beautiful image which perfectly depicts the true meaning of Christmas:

Image

The image, bow, baubles, sentiment and backing paper are all printed from the cd-rom.  I used antique gold card for my matting and embossed the base card using my favourite embossing folder from Crafters' Companion.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 365 - Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas with the optional theme of 'use the word Christmas'.

CD Sunday Challenge - Christmas Flowers and/or foliage (the foliage is on the patterned paper)

Tranquil Days

My card for today is made using the stunning Tranquil Days collection from The Paper Boutique range from Creative Crafting World, and also uses one of Lynda Chapman's fabulous new dies.  They cut so beautifully, release without any effort, and I really can't recommend them highly enough.  In fact, I can honestly say that about all the products I've bought from Creative Crafting World (and there are many!!).

This is the front of my card:

Image

I used and 8 x 8 card blank and Lynda Chapman's Kraft card for the mat on my card.  The corners were punched using a Martha Stewart punch, and an edge punch from the same set was used for the decorative strip.  I kept the little punched out flowers and added them to the corners.

The beautiful doily was also cut using Kraft Card, navy card from PaperMill was used for the decorative strip and circle mat together with the sentiment which was die cut.  A number of lavender gems from Joanna Sheen were added to complete the front of the card.

This is the middle of the card:

Image

I added one of the beautiful inserts from the same collection.

Hello and welcome to my blog today, it's a pleasure to have your company.

A new challenge has started over at the CD Sunday Challenge and for this challenge we are asked to make a card with the theme of 'Christmas Things With Wings'.  Here is my card:

Image

I used my Christmas in Moonbeam Meadow cd-rom from Crafters' Companion to make my card.  I used pearlescent gold paper from PaperMill for all the layers and the snowflake border which was cut using a Memory Box die. The backing paper was printed from the cd-rom along with the topper.

I added the super cute pompom ribbon to complete the card.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

This is my entry into the latest challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

Image

I used Lynda Chapman's Kraft Card to create my base card.  The backing paper is from The Paper Boutique Butterfly Collection, also from Creative Crafting World.

I die cut the butterfly from Co'oredinations card using a free die from Die-cutting essentials magazine.  I added vellum to the rear of the butterfly and the added ultra fine glitter.  The corner decoration was cut from the same card using a Spellbinders die.

The scalloped edge was created using a Martha Stewart punch.  I highlighted the edges of the cardstock and die-cuts using Peacocks Feathers distress ink.

The gems I added are from Joanna Sheen and the sentiment is a peel off.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Birthday Megan

I would like to share a card with you I've made for my niece's birthday.  She loves to go horse riding so this decoupage from Jolly Nation fits the bill perfectly!

Image

I decided to try a different shape of card and am quite pleased with how it's turned out.

I created the base card using the smooth white card from Creative Crafting World.  I love this card and it is a real go-to for me now.  I used red card from PaperMill for all my matting and layering.  I printed the decoupage image and matching backing paper onto super smooth paper.  These are from the Jolly Nation cd-rom.

The die cut mat the main image is sat on was created using a Crafters' Companion die.  The happy birthday die was a freebie from a magazine.  The name was stamped using stamps from Marianne Designs.

I would like to enter my card into the current challenge at CD Sunday which has a theme of 'Take a Stamp'.

'Take A Stamp' - The CD Sunday Challenge

A new challenge has begun over at The CD Sunday Challenge and this time as well as using elements from a cd, we are asked to use a stamp to create our card.

Like many crafters, I do not enjoy making sympathy cards, but unfortunately, we all need to make them from time to time.  This is the case for me and I hope that my card can bring a little comfort to the recipient.

Image

I used a combination of Sue Wilson and Spellbinders dies on my card.  The stamp I used was the 'With Sympathy' sentiment and is a 'WOW!' stamp taken from a set of sentiment stamps.  The cd element is the paper in the background, which is a pink, lightly mottled paper printed from The Seraphina Alphabet Collection cd-rom by Creative Crafting World.

I created the vase using paper clay and a mould from Katy Sue Designs.  The flowers and leaves I have had for some time and are made from paper.

CD Sunday Challenge - When Autumn Leaves Start To Fall

I wasn't sure if I'd get my card finished for the current challenge over at CD Sunday, but another sleepless night gave me the chance to get it done!

Image

The beaded butterfly was created using a pattern from stitchingcards.com.  I used centura pearl card and added gems to the corners.

All mats were created using Lynda's Kraft card from Creative Crafting World.  The beautiful die cuts are Spellbinders dies.  I used a combination of Crafters Companion and Tattered Lace dies to create the sentiment.

The cd element is the backing paper which was printed from the cd that came with Crafters Inspiration Issue 11 from Crafters Companion.  The addition of the gems completed my card.

CD Sunday - Mellow Yellow

There is a new challenge under way over at the CD Sunday Challenge and this time the theme is Mellow Yellow.

Here is my card:

Image

The decoupaged image and backing paper are printed from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Project Book cd-rom.

I used pearlescent yellow card from Create and Craft for the main mat, the die cut corners and the sentiment mat.  I also used silver mirror card from Create and Craft as an additional mat.  The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley.

This is the card I made for my dad to give my daughter for her birthday.  She loves cheese so I knew I was onto a winner with this image, and who doesn't love house mouse?

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I'd love you to leave me a comment so I know that you've been!

CD Sunday Challenge - Clean and Simple

This is my entry into the latest challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge:

Image

The challenge this time is Clean and Simple and it really doesn't get any simpler than this!

I printed a main image and a backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Gruffies & Happy Hoppers cd-rom. I used an A4 sheet of white card to create an A5 size card, attached the backing paper, then the main image.  I used some peel-off stickers for the greeting.  I think this is possibly the simplest card I've ever made - I didn't even do any matting and layering!

CD Sunday Challenge - Second Entry - Let;s Hear It For The Boys

This is a Thank You card made for Emma's History teacher:

Image

I don't do much stamping these days, but thought this was a good image to use to follow the theme of my card.  The background image is from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker cd-rom, matted onto gold linen card, and the giraffe image and accessories are from a Joanna Sheen stamp set, coloured using Promarkers.  The sentiment is also stamped.

I would like to enter my card into the current challenge at CD Sunday.

and the back view.

I printed a backing paper from Crafters Companions Men cd-rom onto cardstock to make the base card.  The sentiment was die cut using a Joanna Sheen die.  I cut a shirt shape from red card and decoupaged the club badge for on the front of the card.  The name and number on the back of the card were die cut using Memory Box dies.

CD Sunday - Past Times

There is a new challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog and this time Jane has chosen the theme of 'Past Times'.

Image

I immediately turned to the fabulous 'Nostalgia' cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  This is a much loved and well used cd of mine.

I printed off the image a few times onto glossy photo paper, so I could decoupage the image.  The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the '70' was stamped onto shrink plastic using a numbers stamp set from Dimension Forth.  The 'DAD' was stamped using alphabet stamps from Dimension Forth.  I embossed the black card and dad lettering using an embossing folder that made me think of the pattern you get on some tyres, to tie in with the theme of the card.

A friend's son is celebrating his 21st birthday this week.  I was struggling for ideas of what to make and spotted my tonic dies still on my desk, so used them to create this card:

CD Sunday Challenge - 'Celebration'

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday and this time Jocelyn has chosen 'Celebration' as the theme. Some friends of ours have just got engaged and this is the card I have made for them:

Image

I created the base card using Centura Pearl card from Crafters' Companion.  I used Crafters' Companion luxury Red Mirror card for all the mats.  Onto the base layer I placed backing paper from Crafters' Companion Bebunni Love cd-rom.  The decoupaged image is from the same cd-rom.  I used a variety of dies and an embossing folder.  I finished the card using some tiny floral pearlescent embellishments.

Up The Garden Path

The latest challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge is Up The Garden Path.  A friend of mine has a lovely big garden, surrounded by trees, where you can walk up the garden path and sit and watch all sorts of birds and other wildlife visit.  This is what gave me the inspiration for my card:

Image

The decoupaged image is from Joanna Sheen.  Backing paper from Creative Crafting World.  The die cut branch and leaves are a Marianne die, and the paper used to make the roses is printed from Pollyanna Pickering Sketch Book Chapter V cd from Creative Crafting World.  I used a Martha Stewart punch along the edge of the backing paper to add interest (hopefully!).

Sun or Sand or Sea

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge and the theme for this challenge is 'Sun or Sand or Sea'.  This immediately had me reaching for the Faye Whittaker cd-roms from Joanna Sheen. Here is my card:

Image

I printed the backing paper from the cd-rom onto super smooth paper.  I printed the image a few times onto Super Smooth paper so I could create a decoupaged image.  This was then added to a frame cut from Core'dinations cardstock using a spellbinders die.  Finally I die cut the bunting and clouds and added these to complete my design.

CD Sunday - Shabby Chic

Hello

This is my entry into the current challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge which this time has a theme of 'Shabby Chic'.  This really was a challenge for me and I hope that my card fits the bill.  Thanks Meg for pointing me in the right direction.

Image

Rarely for me, I used a stamped image for my card.  This gorgeous image and the embellishments are all from the adorable Patchwork Polly range of stamps by Jane Nestorenko.  I stamped them all in Memento ink and coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils.  The card used is from Create and Craft, the backing paper printed from Crafters' Companion Swalk cd-rom and the lace is also from Crafters' Companion.

I distressed all around the edges of the backing paper using a very handy distressing tool and then inked the edges using a Tim Holtz distress ink.  Finally I added lots of pearls from Joanna Sheen.

This is one of the cards I have made for my daughter to give to her teachers.  She leaves high school this month and is currently sitting her GCSE's.  She has 3 exams today!

Simon Says Stamp - Furry Friends

This is my entry into Simon Says Stamp latest challenge which this time is Furry Friends:

Image

This card I made for my husbands birthday.

I used a bronze pearlescent card from PaperMill to create the base card, and added to this the brick wall cut from Kraft card using Crafters' Companion Create-a-card die.  I cut the grass twice from  different coloured cards using a Crafters' Companion Icicles die.  The sentiment was also a Crafters' Companion die, cut from gold linen effect card from Create and Craft.

I used Sheena Douglass Man's Best Friend stamp set to stamp both the dog and the legs onto Neenah card.  I coloured these using alcohol markers and then fussy cut the images.  These were added to the card using foam pads to add dimension.  I coloured the dog to look like our Cocker Spaniel.

CD Sunday Challenge - Say It With Flowers

Hello and a warm welcome to my blog.

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday and this time Pamela has chosen the theme of 'Say It With Flowers'.  Here is my card:

Image

This is an A5 card.  I chose an image and backing papers from Les Belle Fleurs cd-rom from Creative Crafting World.  I printed the beautiful pansy image onto photo paper and used super smooth paper for the backing papers.  Gold linen card was used for all my matting.  The paper with purple flowers on was made using distress ink and a stencil.  The little pansy I hand-made using dies from Brittania (I'm quite into making my own flowers at the moment!)  I then added some twine to which I attached the little die that the hand-made pansy is sat on.

I love pansies.  I think they're such happy flowers and always make me smile.

I was delighted to have a card placed second in a recent challenge at CD Sunday (their recent sketch challenge.  I'm really pleased you liked my card.

CD Sunday Challenge - 2nd Entry

I've really enjoyed the theme of the current challenge at CD Sunday which is 'Anything Asian'.  This is my second card for this challenge:

Image

This time I used Joanna Sheen's Eastern Treasures cd.  I love this image of the mandarin ducks.

I printed the image onto glossy photo paper and the co-ordinating backing paper onto super smooth paper.  I used a pearlescent gemstone cardstock from Create and Craft which I embossed using a folder from Crafters' Companion.  The die the image is sat on is also Crafters' Companion.

I added 2 different ribbons, picking out colours from the image, and created a water lily using a Marianne Die.  I added some glitter to this, but you can't really see it in the photo.  I cut the sentiment from matt silver cardstock using a Crafters' Companion die.  Finally I added some gems from Joanna Sheen.

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything Asian

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge and this time the theme is 'Anything Asian' which gives us fantastic scope.  Here is my card:

Image

I immediately thought of the fabulous Kimono range from Crafters' Companion for my card.  This has to be one of my all-time favourite ranges.

I started by embossing some core-dinations cardstock using one of the embossing folders from the Kimono range.  I printed out the topper and butterflies onto some super smooth paper and added these using foam pads for extra dimension.  I die cut the sentiment twice from co-ordinating card and off-set them slightly for a shadow effect.  The beautiful peacock die is also from the Kimono range.  I die-cut it from white card and then added two different embossing powders, picking out colours from the topper.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the lovely inspiration from the design team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This is my entry into the current challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I am just in the nick of time with my entry!

Image

As you can see, I have rotated the sketch for my card.

I used backing paper from the Kimono cd-rom from Crafters' Companion, together with co-ordinating card.  I embossed the centura pearl card in the corners using a die that came free with a magazine.  I used a spellbinders die for the decorative edge and the branches and flowers are created using Crafters' Companion dies also from the Kimono range.  Little gems were used for the centres of the flowers.  The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp, sat on mats created using a spellbinders label die set.

CD Sunday Challenge - Sketch

For the new challenge over at CD Sunday, Carol has given us a great sketch to follow:

Image

Here is my card:

Image

The gorgeous image and backing paper are from Pollyanna Pickering's The Story So Far DVD-rom from Creative Crafting World.  I used their Kraft card for all my layers as I thought it worked really well with the image.

I used a Nellie Snellen die and Kraft card for my die cuts, Lili of the Valley Sentiment stamp, and Crafters' Companion flower dies to create my daisy, finished with flowersoft in the centre, to pick out the daisies in the main image.  Finally, I added green gems to the other 2 corners.

Inside the card I added a matching insert from the DVD-rom but forgot to take a photo of this!

Thanks for the sketch Carol, I really enjoyed following it.

CD Sunday Challenge - Spring Colours - 2nd Entry

Here, as promised, is my second entry for the current CD Sunday Challenge:

Image

I used my very neglected Morehead Cd-rom from Crafters Companion to make my card.

The card blank is from Hunkydorey and I cut out the printed backing papers to fit the aperture.  I cut a Creative Expressions die twice and attached these to the base image to frame it.

I printed the decoupage elements onto 140gsm super smooth paper and layered them using foam pads to add the wonderful dimension to the image.

I'm really pleased with how this came out and must try and use this cd-rom some more.

Jo x

CD Sunday Challenge - Spring Colours

My favourite challenge is celebrating it's 7th birthday.  Happy Birthday CD Sunday and thanks for inspiring me to use my cd's (I've got a lot of them and my collection continues to grow!).

I've made 2 cards to enter in the current challenge and this is the first one:

Image

I used the Sugar and Spice cd-rom from Crafters' Companion for my card.  The name was created using Stamps which I then cut out using a die and triple-embossed using Ultra thick clear embossing powder,  I created the rose embellishment using roses and rose buds from my stash, die cut leaves and white feathers, all ties together with some narrow pink ribbon,

To create the butterfly tag, I cut the image with a circle die and then cut another slightly larger circle from pink card.  I added a second butterfly to add dimension and added tiny gems to the centre.  This was then attached using bakers twine.

I added spotty ribbon diagonally across two corners.  Finally I added more gems to finish.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

CD Sunday Challenge - Second Entry

Hello Again

This is the card I have made for my niece's birthday using a fabulous Pollyanna Pickering image from Creative Crafting World.

Image

The image was printed onto glossy photo paper and matted onto Lynda's black card.  The backing papers were taken from a Paper Popper Pad, again matted onto Lynda's black card.  I rounded off all the corners on this card for a different look.

My 'any old iron' elements on the card are parts of the horses bridal and the brad and charms I added to the corner of the card.  There are two cards attached using bakers twine, one is a horse, and the other is a little hand the says 'hand made' on it.

I die cut the sentiment twice, using a die from Crafters Companion, cut once into black card, and once into yellow card, and offset them slightly.

Here is the link to the latest challenge - CD Sunday Challenge - Any Old Iron

CD Sunday Challenge - Any Old Iron

Hello

Welcome to my blog today.

I was delighted to see that I had a card placed in the top three in the recent CD Sunday 'Punch It Out' Challenge.

The current challenge theme is 'Any Old Iron'.

I needed to make a birthday card for a Westie lover.  I went to one of my rather neglected cd's - Paws for Thought by Sandra Coen, it's a Creative Crafting World cd.  I thought that the traditional watering can depicted in the image fitted the current CD Sunday Challenge perfectly:

Image
My apologies that the image is a bit fuzzy.  I took this photo on my camera phone and posted the card before checking the quality of the photo.  Hopefully, you still get the general feel of the card.

I decided to make a twisted stacker for a change and printed the image onto glossy photo paper.

The co-ordinating backing paper was printed onto a satin paper.  I used Lynda Chapman's black card to create my mats and used a black peel off for my sentiment.

I'd love to know what you think of my card.

Head Like A Sieve!

Hello

I made this card for the CD Sunday Challenge 'Enjoy' (tea/coffee).  It's only when I've come to write this post I've realised that I've got my weeks' muddled up and have missed the cut off date!  As I made the card especially for the challenge, I've decided to post it anyway!

Image

I used the Moonbeam Meadow cd-rom from Crafters' Companion for the image and backing papers. The die cut butterflies and flowers are die cut using dies from Crafters' Companion with tiny gems added to the centres.  The New Home sentiment is a Lili Of The Valley Stamp.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

CD Sunday Challenge - Punch It Out

The current challenge at CD Sunday is Punch It Out - Use punches and/or dies.  This is my entry:

Image

I used Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom to print the image and the backing paper.  The beautiful pattern behind the main image is cut on my silhouette portrait using a silhouette cutting file, and is cut into Lynda's black card (from Creative Crafting World).  The die cut shape behind the images is cut using a spellbinders die.  The bow is a die from Crafters Companions Downton Abbey collection and the sentiment is a Die'sire edgeables die, cut into black and pink card stock to give a shadow effect.  The ribbon is a harlequin ribbon from Create & Craft and the card candy were part of a prize I won ages ago.

The theme for this challenge is Friendship, Love and Romance.  This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband.

I used the fabulous BeBunni Love cd-rom from Crafters Companion,  I printed out the decoupage image and matching backing paper.  I die cut the mats for the decoupage and sentiment using Crafters Companion dies.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink using a stamp from Crafters Companion. The card blank is from Hunkydory.

A New Baby Girl

The current challenge over at CD Sunday is 'Something New'.  A relative of mine had a new baby recently and this is the card I have made for her:

Image

The decoupage image and co-ordinating papers are all from the Popcorn Kids cd-rom from Crafters Companion.

I embossed some gold card using a Crafters Companion embossing folders and used this for all my matting.

I stamped and embossed the name and sentiment using versafine ink and then gold detail embossing powder.  I used the tonic tag dies that came free recently in Die-cutting essentials magazine (it's a fab set of dies that I can see I will get lots of use from).

I used pink ribbon from Create and Craft and pink pearls from Joanna Sheen.

I would also like to enter my card in the current Win & Tonic challenge - Take Your Pick - I went with the tag option.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Happy New Year to all my visitors.  I hope it is a good one for you all.

Image

The toppers, backing papers and bow are all printed from the cd-rom.  I used holographic silver mirror card for my mats and for the beautiful snowflake which was cut using a spellbinders die.  The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:
