CD Sunday Plus Challenge #187 - Hosted by Meg

Hello and welcome

I can't believe it's time for our next challenge over at CD Sunday Plus.

I haven't been able to do as much card-making as I'd like just lately as I'm having a bad flare up of arthritis in my hands.  Fortunately, I'm still managing to do some crocheting, which is very good exercise for my hands and keeps them moving!

Here is my inspiration for this challenge:

Image
All the elements on my card are from Do Crafts Creativity CD-Rom 'At Home With The Jones's'.  I've had the cd-rom a very long time and love the artwork on it.

All the details of how to enter our challenge can be found over on the challenge blog.  I hope you'll be able to join us.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge #184 - Hosted by Me

 Hello

Welcome to my blog.

I'm loving that the days are so much longer, and it's now light when I get up (I'm an early riser) and only goes dark a short time before I go to bed.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus and it's my turn to host.  I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

Here is my inspiration for the challenge:

Image

I used dies and artwork from the Carnation Crafts Half & Half collection to make my easel card.  A collection I have had for a long time but used very little.  The flowers are decoupage and I embossed the card using my favourite embossing folder.  The heart in the centre was die cut using another favourite die and then the die cut numbers and sentiment added to complete the card.

This card is for some friends who are celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

All the details of how to enter our challenge can be found over on the challenge blog.  I hope you'll be able to join us.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 183 - Hosted by Meg

Hello and welcome

Today a new challenge starts over at CD Sunday Plus and this challenge Meg is hosting.

This is the card I've made for my sister-in-laws birthday.  It took a long time to make!

Image

I used dies and artwork from the Tattered Lace Pressed Rose Collection.  The artwork is beautiful, as are the dies, but with them being so intricate, it took a bit of effort to cut them all out.

I used Lynda Chapman's white card (the brick) for my card base.  This is my go-to card as it's also great for printing onto.  The lilac card is adorable scoreable from hunkydory and the silver mirri card from my stash.  I layered all the flowers up using foam pads.  I was really pleased with how the card turned out.

I am currently trying to use collections that I either haven't used or have used very little.  I'm also trying to get ahead with all my birthday cards for this year, so should be able to kill 2 birds with 1 stone - watch this space!

All the details of how to enter our challenge can be found over on the challenge blog.  I hope you'll be able to join us.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge #182 - Hosted by Pamela

Hello and welcome to the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus.

A friend of ours is a very keen fisherman, and having recently retired is really getting time to enjoy his hobby.  This is the card I have made him for his birthday.

Image

I printed decoupage and backing paper from the Jolly Nation Men's cd-rom.  I love Jolly Nation and really wish they had released a cd with the Children's decoupage on too.  My supply is dwindling!

The mat that the image is sat on was die cut with Teardrop & Sweep dies from Carnation Crafts, another big favourite of mine!  The white and black card used are all from Lynda Chapman.

All the details of how to enter our challenge can be found over on the challenge blog.  I hope you'll be able to join us.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

 Hello

This is my entry into the current House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

Image

I love this image, but the decoupage took quite some cutting out!  I layered the decoupage onto white card, and then onto a 7 x 7 card with a matching coloured mat added.  I die cut the flags for the sentiments using dies from Creative Crafting world and finished the card with some gems.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

To make this card I used Tattered Lace Peaceful Picture dies and decoupage and I'm really pleased with how it came out.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 179 - Hosted by Meg

 Hello

Here we are well into March and the days are getting longer, although we are not having the best of weather here in Manchester and I often feel a bit like I'm living in a black hole!  Fortunately, I have lots of crafting to keep me occupied!

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus and we are all looking forward to seeing your fabulous creations.

Here is my card for this challenge:

Image

This is the front of the card

Image

And this is the inside

I used the Destinations cd-rom from Crafters Companion to make my card, and the frame for the front was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

Some close friends of ours have just been on the trip of a lifetime to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.  I wanted to send a card to be waiting for them when they got back home.

I do hope you'll join us over on the challenge blog.

House-mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

 Hello

The challenge theme this week over at House-mouse & Friends is Anything Goes with the option to use green.

Here is my card:

Image

I used Joanna Sheen's decoupage cd-rom and printed and cut out the decoupage.  I printed a matching paper which I cut in half and used half on the front and the other half as an insert.

I chose some co-ordinating card to make my card base and then added a white mat layer before adding my backing paper.

Image

Here is the inside.

The card is larger than A5.

This is a birthday card for my sister, who has recently had her garden re-done but doesn't have flowers planted yet!

Thanks for visiting.

Pollyanna Pickering Launch

 Good Morning

Today on Highlight Crafts TV, Lynda, Ian and Anna-Louise Pickering will be launching a fabulous new collection using the artwork of the amazing Pollyanna Pickering.  You can watch the show on Highlight Crafts TV from 10am today.

It was such a pleasure creating samples for the shows.  The artwork is stunning and I spent so much time just looking at the beautiful artwork, what a talent!

Here are some of my creations:

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 178 - Hosted by Pamela

Hello

Yay!  Today is the first of March.  I always feel happier when January and February are behind us as I find them very difficult months for a number of reasons.

Today our new challenge starts over at CD Sunday Plus and this is my card for the new challenge:

Image

I used the Wine Buffs cd-rom to make this fun card, and printed the main image and backing paper from the cd,  I die cut the circle mat using Carnation Crafts Teardrop and Sweep dies, and used a Sue Wilson die set for the sentiment.  I then fussy cut some of the bottles and added them to the card with foam tape.

I hope to see you joining us over on the challenge blog.

House-mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

 Hello

The current challenge over at House-mouse & Friends is Anything Goes or used patterned paper.  Here is my card:

Image

I used this lovely cheery image from the Gruffies & Happy Hoppers, which I teamed with the matching backing paper.  I added some yellow and white mats to add to the cheeriness!  I then die cut the flower, stamped the sentiment in brown to represent the centre of the sunflower, and added the flower to complete the card.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 177 - Hosted by Jocelyn

Good morning

The weather is very cold and wet here in Manchester at the moment and I am staying nice and cosy indoors!

Our next challenge starts today over at CD Sunday Plus and we hope you'll be able to join us.

Here is my card for this challenge:

Image

For my card I used the Age of Elegance cd-rom by Joanna Sheen, Carnation Crafts large number dies, CCW dies (hexagons) and a Crafters' Companion embossing folder.

I also decorated the inside of the card.

Image

The card was for my friend's mum's birthday.  It was such fun to make and I'm pleased to say she loved the card.

Thanks for visiting.

House-mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

 Happy Valentines Day

I hope you have a lovely day whatever your plans.

This is the card I have made for my husband.  We've been together 40 years this month and he really is my soul mate.  Sadly, my health continues to worsen and it is difficult to make any plans, but he's always there to support me and pick me up when I'm down.  I'm very lucky.

Image

For my card I used an image from Joanna Sheen's Gruffies & Happy Hoppers cd-rom, which I turned into decoupage.  I added some 'fluffy stuff' to the bunnies tale.  I then used an assortment of dies to cut out the various card, and stamped the sentiments.

I'd like to enter my card in the House-mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Thanks for visiting.  Have a lovely day.

Pop Out Cards

 Hello

Today I'm sharing some pop-out cards I made for the Crafty Witches shows.  These were fun to make and come with matching envelopes.  There are 8 cards with envelopes in the set and can by found here.  There is also a video available showing you how to make them should you get stuck.

Image

Image

These are nice and easy to cut out and can of course be embellished further if you wish.

Best Buddies

Today I'm sharing with you some more of my designs from the Crafty Witches Digital Book of Spells, and these are from the 'Best Buddies' collection.   More gorgeous artwork from The Crafty Witches for us to craft with.

Image

All the elements to make this card are included in the collection, easily cut out with a ruler and craft knife, or paper trimmer, then I just added varying heights of craft foam to complete the card.  So cute!

Image

I decided to make a slimline card as I hadn't made one in a while.  Again, all elements are included, easy to cut out and then layered onto the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 176 - Hosted by Me

Hello and welcome.

Today is my birthday.  My daughter's are coming round today for Sunday dinner, and I'm hoping after dinner we'll get to play some games!

Today is also the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus and this is the birthday card I made for my fellow teamie, Jocelyn.

Image

I am determined this year to use items from my stash that I've not used or hardly used.  The Carnation Crafts Dies and Vignettes I used on my card I haven't used before, I used Tonic dies for all the mats and layers, which I haven't used before and my favourite Creative Expressions embossing folder.  A pearl was added to each corner to complete the card.

I hope you'll be able to join us, full details of how to enter can be found on the Challenge Blog.

I look forward to seeing your creations.

So Hoppy

 Hello

Today I'm sharing with you some more of my designs from the Crafty Witches Digital Book of Spells, and these are from the 'So Hoppy' collection.   Just such incredibly cute artwork!

Image

This is a very simple rocker card, made using a Topper and some backing paper, all cut using circle dies.

Image

This is an 8 x 8 card, made using elements from this gorgeous collection, and die cut using circle dies.

This is such a lovely collection to craft with.

Floral Fiesta

 Hello

Today I'm sharing my samples from the beautiful Floral Fiesta, which is from the Digital Book of Spells, Volume 1 Spring 2025 edtion

Image

Image

All the elements for these cards are on the design sheet, and print out beautifully.  They were easy to cut out (I just used a craft knife and metal ruler) and I then added differing depths of 3d foam to add dimension.

I hope you like them.

A Song of Spring

 Hello

Here are some more of my cards made with the fabulous Book of Spells from the Crafty Witches.  These are from 'A Song of Spring' Collection:

Image

For this card, I printed off a topper, backing paper and solid paper.  I embossed some white paper using one of my very neglected embossing folders, and the used square dies to cut out all the layers, which were then glued onto the base card.

Image

All the toppers for this card and the one above were printed on one sheet - and I still have some to use!  Such economical crafting!  I printed a sheet of patterned paper and one of solid and used some more of the embossed paper left from the card above.  The layers were all die cut and then glued, flat, onto the base card.  I stamped a sentiment which was then added to the centre, and some tiny pearls added to each corner.

There are also beautiful matching inserts included in the Book of Spells and I added these to each of my cards to complete them.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Exciting News!

 Hello

I'm thrilled to say that I am now on the design team for the Crafty Witches.  I've been a follower of Lynda Chapman for many years and she first got me into digital crafting and I've never looked back!  The first of my creations were on Highlight Crafts last Saturday, and I was thrilled to see them on screen.

These are a couple of my creations from the Cutest Cuddles Toppers which are in the Digital Book of Spells 2025 Spring Edition.  There is so much beautiful content in this collection and it really sparks your creativity.

Image

I LOVE giraffes, and this is such a beautiful image.  I enlarged the topper and printed it twice.  I then used 3d glue to create the decoupage and raised the mummy giraffe higher than the baby.  These were then matted onto layers cut with Teardrop and Sweep dies from Carnation Crafts and I stamped a sentiment to complete the card.

Image

I had such fun creating this one!  Again, I enlarged the topper and printed it out twice.  I glued one topper to the back of the frame for extra stability. I then cut out and added a layer of ultra-thick embossing powder to each of the Orca's.  I added the baby with one layer of 3mm foam pads and the mum with 2 layers.  I made the shells using paper clay so the picture didn't end up too heavy.  These were added using silicone glue.  The driftwood was collected from a beach on Anglesey.

I used a deep box frame from Hobbycraft.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more of my creations!

Thanks for visiting.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge #175 - Hosted by Meg

Hello and welcome

Already it's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus.  We all loved visiting your blogs and seeing your entries into our last challenge.  If you'd like to join in with the fun, full details of how to enter our challenge can be found over on the challenge page.

Here is my card for this challenge:

Image

I made this fun card using the Kanban Wobblers cd-rom and dies.   The die cuts out the base and rocker elements and the rest is cut out by hand.  He rocks and his head wobbles!  He makes me smile each time I look at him (which is a good thing at this time of year!)

Thanks for visiting today, and for any comments you leave.  I hope to see your entries on the Challenge Blog.

House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

 Hello

A close friend of mine has a birthday this month.  We met at high school and have been friends ever since.  This is the card I have made for her birthday.

Image

Isn't that just the most adorable image?  I made it in decoupage and then matted it onto cardstock that mirrored the design.  The sentiment is by Phill Martin and all the mats were cut using Sue Wilson's double stitched rectangles dies.

I am entering this card in the House-mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

CD Sunday Plus Challenge # 174 - Hosted by Pamela

 Happy New Year

I hope you've had a lovely Christmas and that 2026 is a good one for you.

It's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday Plus and there are a few changes for this year.  Firstly, we no longer have a Facebook page and secondly, the challenge will now close at 9pm on the second Friday.  Any entries for this challenge therefore need to be posted by 9pm on Friday, 16th January.

Here is my card for this challenge:

Image

I recently treated myself to the All Our Yesterdays collection from Highlight crafts as I thought it would fill in some of the gaps in my collection for men's cards.  I used some of the dies and downloads to create this card for a friends 30th birthday.  I don't often create this style of card, and really enjoyed making this one.

I hope you like my inspiration and you'll be able to join in with our challenge.
