Image

The lucky winner will receive two digi stamps and the image I've used on my card is included in the prize.

I coloured the image using Spectrum Noir's and added Hunkydory's Snowdrift for an extra wintery look! The lilac card is core'dinations and I used a Marianne Die to cut the beautiful doily the image is sat on.  The co-ordinating backing paper is from my stash.  I die-cut the holly corner from green mirror card to tie in with the holly on her hat, I used a Cheery Lynn die and added some red beads for the berries.  I used a Memory box die to cut the snowflake border from white glitter card, and the sentiment is from Hunkydory.

Please pop across to the Challenge Blog to see the lovely cards my teamies have created.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

To The Moon and Back

Hello and a warm welcome to my blog today.  A big thank you to everyone who has stuck with me through my long absence.  I am trying my best to get back to regular crafting but am still having some issues with my health.  I don't want my hobby to turn into a worry or a bind, so I am going to take it steady.  To ease me back in, I am going to post once a week, if I manage more that's a bonus.

What better way to get back into the swing than to participate in the CD Sunday challenge.  This has always been one of my favourite challenges, and I love that it gets me using my cd-roms more.  So I am going to join in with the challenge each week again.

Here is my card:

Image

Forever Friends Retro Collection cd-rom used for the decoupage, backing papers and moon and star embellishments.

Gold linen card from Create & Craft used for matting.

I used the remainder of the backing papers on the inside of my card:

It's the first Saturday of the month again all ready which means it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge and this month our theme is We're Going On A Bear Hunt!  This month we are lucky enough to be sponsored by

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Anything Goes

I'm rather late in posting my card for this months' challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month our theme is 'Anything Goes'.  This month we are sponsored by Pretty Little Stamps and the Design Team were given some lovely images to work with.  Here is my card:

Image

This image is called Lovable Avie and I printed her onto Neenah card and coloured her using Spectrum Noir pens and coloursoft pencils (blended with baby oil).  The pretty backing paper and vellum are from an old issue of Making Cards magazine.  The oval mat is cut from Co-ordinations card using Spellbinders Floral Oval die.  The daisies were cut using a Sizzix, Susan's Garden Daisy die.  You die cut all the petals individually and then build up the flowers.  Time consuming but worth it I think.  I finished the flowers with a crystal gem in the centres.

Thanks for having a look at my card.  Please do pop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful cards my team mates have created.  I hope you can join in with our challenge - look forward to seeing you there!

Proud as a Peacock

Good Morning

I hope you've had a good week and have a lovely weekend.  Don't they come around quickly?

I decided to enter a second card in the current CD Sunday challenge, this time with a embroidered design.  I've had this pattern for a while and this is the first time I've used it.

Image

It took a long time to stitch the design but I'm very pleased with the result.   I didn't want to detract from the image so kept the card fairly simple.  The pattern for this design is available from stitching cards and I stitched it using metallic threads. The design is matted onto green mirror card, I used a corner stamp from Dimension which I heat embossed with crystal embossing powder and then just added some midget gems to finish.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

CD Sunday Challenge - Fine Plumage

Card Crafters Circle - In Stitches

Pin and Tack Spark Your Creativity Now! - Anything Goes

A Bird and Some Feathers

Good Afternoon.

I was struggling to get started with a card today, and decided to combine 3 challenges to try and give me some inspiration.

Image

I knew which CD I wanted to use, my new Fabulous Fashion cd's from Katy Sue designs.  I printed off one of the digi stamps onto Neenah card and coloured using my Spectrum Noirs.  Both backing papers were printed from the cd-rom also.  I used a Marianne die to cut the scalloped circle that the image is sat on.  I embossed some lilac card using swiss dots embossing folder.  The flower and leaves are also made using  Marianne dies.  The border punch is Martha Steward and the daisy strip is a Poppystamps die.  The purple feathers are from my stash.

My card is for the following challenges:

Sunday Sketch and Stamp - Sketch plus use a stamp.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Fine plumage

Marianne Designs - Get Your Dies Out

Robyns Fetish Challenge - Use Die Cuts or Punches

Thank You

Thank you all for your messages following the loss of my Mum.  We've had her funeral and it was a very difficult day for us all.  The sun shone, which I'm sure helped a little, and we had put together a lovely service to give mum the send off she deserved.

I'm back at home now and very much in limbo.  People say about getting back to normal but there is no normal any more because such a huge part of my life has been taken from me.  There are so many times when I think "I must tell mum about that", or think of things I want to ask her.

Dad's keeping busy and my two sisters who live near to him are calling in to see him each day.  I speak to him on the phone most days too.

I have so many happy memories and I hope these will help me through, it really isn't sinking in at the moment.     I know Mum will always be with us in our mannerisms, sayings and memories.

I love you Mum.  Night, night, God bless.

Very Sad News

I am so sad to have to tell you that my lovely mum died last Monday morning after a sudden and very traumatic illness.  I have been staying at my sisters so I am closer to her, my dad and my other sister, but have now come home for a few days to spend some time with my husband and daughters.  Her funeral is not until Monday, 4th March.  We are all in shock at the moment and doing our best to support dad and each other.

Please keep my mum in your prayers.
